I love scorpions, but I'll probably never have another one, I used to have some Florida Bark scorpions when I was in my teens. For whatever reason their stings are labeled as severely painful but I didn't think they were all that bad when I did get hit (walking into the bathroom and found one that had snuck into the house). Nothing fancy like yours though, also nice to see someone with "real" scorpions and not emperors.


what are the two vials on the top, antivenom? we arn't allowed to keep that in florida if you arn't a medical center or milker.

Yes Androctonus (sp) are all fattails, Androctonus is latin for "mankiller"

Those small vials are for pinhead crickets, and other small prey items.

Unfortunately I can not purchase antivenin for these types of scorpions, so I keep a venom extractor kit and mind my P's and Q's.


Bark scorpions are awesome, Ive only had one, and he/she was a fiesty lil beast

It's a niche market my friend, I saw a really neat death stalker a while back, but i've grown tired of insectivores.

I can understand that one indeed. Its hard to find the good specimens. Even then it can be boring at times. Oh well
