Picked up the bumper and lip today. He redid the bumper because he said it had some bubbles in it when I picked up the car.

Been awhile, but finally moved my car home and have been able to make some progress, so thought I would start posting updates again.

Still waiting on a lot of fabricated pieces.

Moved back home!

Old harness has been hacked to pieces, so out it must come.

Then I also bought a new ecu. Went with a Haltech p1000. They dont make a pnp kit that I like for my car so I bought the flying leads kit. Just going to use their fusebox, remove the OEM one and run all new wires into the engine bay. Then I just need to tie in the engine bay with the oem wires, loom it all, and mount.

I think this is where I will mount my flexfuel sensor. The fuel pressure regulator might have to be moved. I will not know until I make up the turbo hotpipe though.

My car was decently low last year, but I wanted to go lower. I removed the third collar on my coilovers in the front and put them down all the way plus about a turn. It is basically a coozie off the ground with the bumper. I think this is as low as I will go for now so it is still drive-able. My house and work are fairly steep drives. Any lower I will also have to grind down or hammer in a fin piece in the wheel well.

Set the camber plates all the way in. Will adjust at the strut with oem camber bolts.

You could see where it would rub at full lock. Once I set it to the new height I could not even turn. I re-rolled my fenders as far as possible without much pulling, and added more caster to my front. I can now turn lock to lock with the tires I have at the same ride height. I also prepped and painted the inner parts of the fenders to match. Everything is a bit nicer now.

I decided to just go through with removing all my heater core lines to clean up the engine bay since I have time waiting on other parts. I will tap into the main radiator pipes under the car for the heater core, but this removed 2 other lines that go underneath the car and a snake of hoses in the engine bay. It will look much nicer in the end. Of course the fuel tank needs dropped for that. While its out I am going to pull my Aeromotive 360 pump and put in a Walbro 416 to just have the most fuel possible out of a single pump. The next step I will just do a bosch 044 inline with this walbro. I ordered the walbro tonight 5/2, so hopefully I can put it back in next week.

Tank out..This tank sits between the seats if you are not familiar, and can be an annoying job to do, but me and a friend had it out fairly quick.

And another night of fun! Finally got all the pipes out from my car that I wanted out.

Here are the heater core pipes, they run all the way to the frunk.

Heater core pipes gone

All the hoses I removed from the engine bay! Just a ridiculous amount of hoses.

After, all hoses gone. This is basically how it will look minus the hose from the coolant tree down to the firewall. My trans has color identity crises, I guess the coolant has eaten away the silver covering up some pink from another owner years ago?

Here are the main radiator pipes I need to get 2 fittings welded to.

Stripped the starter down

And then primed/painted

Pulled out the clock and installed a nice stealthy gauge. Uses the clock buttons to adjust and scroll through options. The gauge can display ethanol percentage, oil press, oil temp, coolant temp, volts, boost, and afr. For right now I am just using it for ethanol percentage off my Haltech, volts(no oem anymore), and coolant temp. I already have boost/wideband. I may do a oil press or temp in the future.

Just need to wire it up soon..

Since I am going to a trunkmount I need air to be able to get into the trunk. People just remove this rubber molding but it looks bad. I just cut enough to get decent airflow hopefully but at eyelevel you cant see any cuts into the rubber. The passanger side is completely blocked off and forces all air into the trunk.

Before the blockoff is in place. You would see into the engine bay from this side, just a black plate.

I dont drift.

So after removing all the unused lines I had a friend weld shut alot of coolant ports.

Added the 2 angled pipes for where my heater core will now tap into under the car by the gas tank.

Another empty pipe that used to just wrap around the block and back to the firewall

Then finally on the coolant neck another big hole shut that used to run to the heater core lines

Dropped off my valve cover tonight for another -10AN bung to be welded too. Just waiting for the correct pump harness, and a oem fuel strainer and back in everything goes!

It will rarely see a dragstrip, but based on what others have done it should be capable of very low 10s. Will it ever hit those numbers though, who knows. Maybe one day I will mount a set of radials on my rx7 wheels and set the car up for drag. We will see..

I still havent really jumped into the wiring yet. Once I get all this back into the engine bay, and the fuel tank in and all that then I will begin. I got to many small things going on now, so trying to finish that up first.

Painted the lower coolant neck gloss black after getting some stuff welded shut.

Had my friend weld closed a stock breather hole, and add another -10AN fitting. Will eventually recoat this, but it will do for now.

Swaybar reinforcement plates

Relocated heatercore lines

Relocated main coolant hose

Replaced some rusty braces

Just made my own for the rears since they are so expensive, and used thicker metal. Just a torch and mallet and then painted.

mock up

3.5" dp before bungs and pan evac setup

Got most of the stuff in a few weeks ago..
Turbo drain and pan evac fittings

4" core and custom endtanks, got beat up in shipping, but easy fix

Sch 40 manifold vband

Can see the fittings now

Straight runner manifold, tapered runners to my specs, integrated iacv, and phenolic spacer

oem iacv retrofitted

mock up in my car

All for now. Plan on finishing everything by Febuary to get it ready for tx2k14 as I booked my room today. Just need to get my crank/cam sensor(going COP)/misc sensors, buy a tial 44, buy a turbo blanket, make all the oil/coolant/fuel lines, rebuild the alternator, and make a lq9 coil bracket for my block, and get all my hot parts coated. Then wire everything in the enginebay with the Haltech flying leads. A local friend(Nissan 240 guys may know him as Broadfield) is making me a cluster for my car, so I will have some pics of that eventually, I havent decided on what gauges/setup yet as I dropped it off to him this past Saturday to figure out measurments on what he can do. Other than that, not to much will be happening..
