Best insert size....

Hey guys I've been using the smallest detent ring size with my phantom and still having double feeding and rollouts. What are you guys using to prevent this? I recently got my barrel bored for freak inserts but haven't got any inserts yet. What are some common insert sizes you guys are using. And do you think this will prevent the problem I'm having? Would using the detent rings with freak inserts be a good idea?

I never had to use anything bigger than .679.
When .679 is too big I put a strip of electrical tape down the back side of the insert.

So you think it would be a good idea to get the 679 and 677 or should I go with a 679 and 682? I was just going to buy a couple inserts to start with first. Didn't wanna have a bunch of inserts I probably wouldn't be using.

It depends on the sizes of your balls in your area, but definitely make sure you get the .679.

I see that you are looking for the SS freak inserts, save your money and just the the regular alum.
The ACTUAL bore sizes will be closer to what it says on the insert with the SS but it doesn't really matter, you will just use what fits the balls anyways.

Oh I see. Yea I guess what fits is more important than what the numbers say anyway.

Is there anywhere I can get an insert smaller than 675? I thought I remember somebody saying there was a guy that made them.

I think I found him but he wanted 30 for one insert, maybe because they were brass. If I need smaller I'll do the tape mod. Thanks to everyone who replied.

All I use on my pump is 679, definitely get that and maybe one more if local paint is larger or smaller.
