PowerLyte Cranium Halo Shells, As good as Suicide shells, only stronger !!!!!!!!!!1!

alright i was at a local shop BS'ing with the tech, and anyway we discussed halo shells (mine suck), so he said "why not just buy a Vlocity" i said they are hideous/Fugly. he said, "oh" "why not try suicide shells", i told him i didnt want a shell that would break. so my friend calls me up, and says "i have a deal with powerlyte, i can get cranium shells for $__" i said i'd give it a go.

so here i am, and my shells arrive:
(i also got a powerlyte composite drive cone )

i thought wow!

then i opened it up and put my halo internals in it!

at this point i was really impressed!

so i played today with the newly aqquired shells, and they held up very nicely!, they hold roughly 15-20 more ball than stock shells (great because you can put a whole pod in and not worry about overfilling/locking up the halo. it gives the drive cone a little wiggle room

and i didnt break a ball in them, i am just absesive

so i give this a 10/10, because these shells are flippin shweet!

so a Big to powerlyte's wonderful shell kit

(the drive cone is awesome too)

Wait a tick... wasn't this shell co-designed between Hybrid and Powerlyte? There was some sort of tie-in between the two. Might this be some sour grapes with Powerlyte's ties to Empire/NPS (see - Scepter/Revolver)?

Good thought... but I have seen shells that are just like the cranium and suicide but with no company name on it...
Watever... I dont really care who makes the shell as long as it lasts and works.

May I ask how you know they are stronger than hybrid shells?

Did you stress test them both? Im guessing, no.

I believe that the dark shell, particularly black stands up much better than colored/clear shells.
So the black Cranium and Suicide are the same but the color Suicide are weaker.
This has been known in the old revy style Empire reloaders, black was stronger than the smoke and clear

these new shells are bigger, is that width or length bigger to hold the extra balls?

Well my friends Shocker hasnt broken down yet but I saw 2 Ego's go down at the last tournament I played in so I guess Shockers are better than Ego's.

What Im trying to say is, your arguement holds no merit so dont make blanket statements when you have no actual facts.

suicide shells aren't that great, i had mine for like two weeks and the foam that holds the batteries in place had pushed them through the inside of the hopper, also the neck cracked when i bumped it against the ground while playin
total boner killer

Hey, quick question, one more reason to get this over suicide would be speedfeed. I heard speedfeed doesn't fit well with hybrid's shells. How does speedfeed fit on these? Also, where can I buy these. I haven't seen them anywhere.

Hey nick now that you've had this shell for a couple of months, can you give us an update on how it's holding up for you? I have a blue suicide shell and the qualitly of the plastic majorly sucks. I have used it a total of zero days of play and its already cracked in 3 places. Above the motor inside, next to the right-top screw, and the battery door all cracked. My suicide shell has been sitting on my shelf since august waiting for my cheetah board to come in. Once I got the cheetah I went to use it for my first tourney but had problems with the autoreverse. It would reverse on it's own even when I wasn't even holding it so I ran back to staging and got my backup halo. Now that I figured out the cheetah problems I went out to my backyard and put a couple of hoppers worth of balls thru it. Thats it! 2 hoppers worth and it's cracked in 3 places. Needless to say I'm seriously pissed. I need to know how the cranium shells hold up and like the other guy said since you didnt stress test it, it's hard for me to justify spending more money on an unknown product. This post and 1 review on pbreview is about all the info I can get on the cranium so please update us. Thanks in advance.

Just get a solid color one, they usually end up to be stronger than the clear lookin ones. My black one is very tough.

its a great shell, and i have gotten bunkered and bonus balled in the shell a few times

not a scratch, except there is a stress mark from where i got shot point blank in the shell

its easily worth it, and i got it for less than $30

anyway, i have forgotten about this thread, so
