Hi all,

This week-end i played with my Etha under snowing weather. Temperature was between -5°C<T<0°C, and it was snowing all day long.

After 2 or 3 games, i started to have bolt stick and i put my Etha in his box for the rest of the day and i used my mechanical back up.

Do you have any tips to share with me to reduce bolt stick by cold and humid weather ?

(next time i would like to stay on field with my favorites gun, and specialists planned a very cold winter here in europe !)

I dont see how the Etha would get bolt stick with that massive spring on it. Did you try another fresh battery?( I have known brand new batterys die when its very cold)

stick with the factory dwell and relube bolt.

I didn't have new battery on field last week
i immediately change my gun.

I think i will buy new one for next game and i will test.

Lub was ok. I checked it and it was ok.

Was the bolt sticking back or forward?

Sticking back - Make sure that the bolt guide and bumper are completely dry. Any lube on these will cause stick at any temp but especially at colder temps as the lube thickens.

Sticking forward - Make sure that the o-ring on the tip of the poppit (#004) is well lubed as the bolt rides on this o-ring. If it is dry I have found that the bolt will stick forward.

i do not know if it was back or forward. I was on field under ennemy shot.
but i will also check your stuff.

but, not recommended by the datasheet, i admit that i put a very very little qtty of oil on bolt guide and on the big spring. (just in order to reduce contacts and noise)
and i used grease on every o'ring as it is recommended on the datasheet.

up this week end no matter.

I will do a big cleaning and battery update and everything will be alright.
(i already have standard setting, i never changed dwell, etc...)

well theres your bolt sticking issue......... there is to be no lube/oil on the bumper, bolt or guide at all
also i had a issue that seemed like bolt stick this weekend and it was just a dead battery, make sure its 100% new and clean the lube of the bumper and guide and there should be no more issues
