This is gonna sound ****ing stupid, even for me.
But will a laptop from 2 years ago suffer from the battery being ****ty if it's used almost exclusively while being plugged in and the battery is rarely, if ever, discharged?

The laptop itself wont mind, but the battery wont be minty fresh even if it is one of those that doesn't try to charge when it's full.

I've always preferred closed... DT770's + amp be nice and they're reasonably priced, haven't tried the 880's or 990's though.
Only thing is the ear-pads are starting to fall apart, but I've taken apart my DT770's like a few hundred times. You can buy replacements for $25-30 though. |

Fwiw I love my 770s. Definitely closed for studying or anywhere that there's other noise. Dorms don't tend to be dead silent. Also what're you powering them with and what's the source? If you're not using a good DAC/amp with lossless you probably won't notice the difference between 770s and higher end cans.

I'd be happy with more RAM and a new GPU if I was to get back into gaming. My i7 still seems to chug along nicely. But I never do anything intensive besides encoding.
