The Kindle Fire is amazing, especially for the price. Also, if I root a Razor Maxx HD, will I miss out on the Jelly Bean update?
Just rooting your phone will not cause you to miss out on Jelly Bean. If you root and still run the stock software you'll get an update prompt just like everybody else. More than likely the JB update will cause you to lose root access though. I know in the past the Motorola phones are pretty locked down and require some extra finesse to achieve root. It'll still be beneficial because you can remove some of the stock bloatware as well as take advantage of root only features (tethering, etc).
Only suggestion is if you root to do a backup before you start removing system apps. When I rooted my Galaxy Nexus I removed a few system apps I didn't use and when the official update came through with Verizon it kept failing the install. Luckily I had an early backup that I saved so it would finally update.

Rooting will likely get you Jelly Bean before the official update. With the previous phones I've owned (Thunderbolt and Galaxy Nexus), all android updates came out well after they leaked for rooted users.

i used this video. he did this on a Verizon I535 gs3 that video you posted was for att
i used this to root my device so i can unlock the bootloader and install custom recovery. right now im rocking cleanrom lite 4.0 and its awesome.
I'll give that vid a try. The onyl thing ATT was the driver, he said it will work for all carriers, just have to download the proper driver, which I did.

Yeah but the Odin image for the phone was for the att version that could be it. Also the drivers for the phone is confusing cause. Need driver for both the phone in standard on mode and in download mode sometimes the computer will not detect the phone while in download mode but will in regular on mode

This. I've had JB on my razr maxx (non-HD) for months now.
