one of the comments from the article:
"It's great to see Apple integrating technologies that help protect consumers from the risks of using unauthorised accessories with their valuable iDevices.I'm very excited by the vast potential of lightning."
they really need a dodgy there
i have literally always wanted an iphone (mostly because ive never had one and want to know what the buzz is about first hand) but every time i hear about apples business models i quickly change my mind. if someone were to trade an ip4 for my D2G id take it, but apple will likely never get my choice as a device to upgrade to. **** that

The cables will charge. Possibly.
You just won't be able to transfer data with a non apple cable.

I'm not going to quote the whole post from 2 pages ago, of Verizons new phones. But why are companies still releasing phones with ICS when JB has been out for months now?
I have no idea what it takes to make the switch, is there really that much that goes into it?

companies love to add their own 3rd party crap to their phones to differentiate from the competition. Instead of just using pure android and letting google work out the bugs, they just have to add **** on top of it all..which takes a lot of time to market their "features" and bug test them. plus they know the average person dgaf

NFL Mobile, Verizon Tones, VZ Navigator, Verizon Video, etc.
All BS that no one wants preloaded, but the companies do it anyway.

Is it the carriers adding stuff, the phone manufacturer, or both?
I hate all the ATT branded junk I'll never use, and am (currently) unable to remove.

Carrier.
Look at tablets. (all i have experience with is Asus)
My transformer prime came with virtually 0 bloatware. I think the only thing they put on it was their cloud storage option or something to that effect.

Speaking as an iPhone 5 user, apple maps is like having a foreign exchange student as your navigator. They have no idea where they're going and they don't know where anything is, but they won't admit it.

Just because you don't need help navigating to the toilet doesn't mean others don't.
I only use onstar anyway.

Navigation is a huge deal for me, if it isn't good then the rest of the device is worthless. Which is why I highly appreciate Android with Google Maps and Navigation. Makes traveling so much easier to cope with.
