DM12 Tank Regulator Output Pressure?

Hello, good people of PbNation! I just recently purchased a brand new, unused DM12 for $850. I was going to wait until Cup, but decided to jump on this good deal before someone else did - I also don't think I could wait that long.

I have a Ninja Pro Tank.

Here's how the output pressure works on my tank:

3 shims = 800psi
2 shims = 700psi
1 shim = 550psi
0 shim(s) = 450psi

What is the best output pressure setting for the DM12s? I think any pressure will work efficiently, but what is the BEST? Any personal preferences, and why? What does Dye say? Their manual says that the HPR runs at 145psi and the LPR runs at 75-80psi.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I believe ninja said this themselves, that 550psi was best suited for DM (and other) markers.
Maybe someone else can confirm this?
However, I don't know if you can actually tell the difference.

Thanks for the info. I looked around for the answer, but couldn't find it. Apparently people think it doesn't matter, but I think it affects it minimally.

i only use the HP tanks on my dye guns for no other reason than that is all i have.
but for some reason i remember reading that with LP tanks (450-550), you can run your tank longer before you start getting shootdown from being low on air.
and i guess, that would be the only advantage to doing that.

Would you recommend 450psi or 550psi? Would my gun be more efficient if I did 450, opposed to 550?

It will be so close that I don't think you will be able to tell the difference.

So, if you had to pick one of them, which would you pick?

To be honest it really doesnt matter if you switch to LP MP or HP they all run about the same, for performance, I've always liked high pressure. I've tried SLP and it works but it's not as consistent,

We really don`t recommend using SLP reg systems for DMs, Field test show some inconsistency`s and while some DM-NT users report Great performance, Others have experienced some velocity issues,
For best results we recommend using the N-SMP-550.
Very similar to the SLP, Just a higher OP, High flow/ super fast / super tight consistency at the chrono.

Made for DMs, NTs and especially Luxes.
