I don't see why it would hurt it....I might wear down on the parts a little more, but far from damaging. A friend of mine has an Axe and he does that all the time. He has a little solenoid stick when he first powers on the marker after awhile of it just sitting there, but I can't imagine that is from having the solenoid do what it is designed to do. It's probably from lack of maintenance on the noid.
