Before, during, and after haha. American Honey is usually the go to.
I'm never a fan of the contrast I get out of the 5d when I'm shooting hunts this time of year. Any tips on reducing that? It's hard to expose faces without having real harsh shadows.

You're pretty much at the will of the sun and where it is in the sky, obviously shooting early and late will yield better results than mid day. I've heard of people reducing all contrast in post and manually dodging and burning it in afterward, never tried it though.
