[Camille - PSP Events]

Here are some updates on 10 man:

• 12.5 BPS
• Standard Size 10 man Field
• No Coaching
• Prelim Games will be Friday, Finals will be Sunday afternoon. Players are allowed to play in another division, but there may be schedule conflicts.

Not sure on numbers of bunkers. There will be a lot. But there won't be any of the huge animated bunkers of the past. Simply too expensive.

Games will be played Friday for all and Sunday for the teams that advance.

Gun rules are the same PSP rules that govern other play.

Most likely scenario is 5 prelim games and the top 4 teams advance to round robin finals.

No coaching.

Also saw Todd Adamson has been rostered for the Femmes.

Spoke to Todd earlier, think if Tami says he is playing he is playing.
He is in the best shape of his life, both Tami and Todd have been working out like mad lately.

The APPA multiplier will be D5 or nothing. It's just showing D2 right now because that's the default for "Open"... we'll get that fixed up.

Well that's good to know... would suck to go from D4 to D2 all in one season playing nothing but local D3 events and 10 man at Cup...

Lane/Camille- Please consider doing more than 5 prelim games! 5 games is hardly worth the trip

If it is a scheduling issue because of planning for long games, just put a shorter time limit on the games- 5 or 6 mins is fine- make ppl be agressive. I think people would much rather have the chance to play a fair amount of games in trade for shorter games.

Are you saying take 5 or 6 mins off the current limit or do you want to make thebgames 5 or 6 min long? If its the latter, my next question would be have you ever played 10 man?

5-6 games= 50-60 min of game time,
how much time are you guaranteed with race 2, pump or any of the other formats?
10 man in 5-6 min is crazy talk, you've obviously never played 10 man if your willing to give up half the game...

You are not going to get quality games at 5-6 min. 10 man is a tad more cerebral than that.

10 man is almost like 2 or 3 different "battles" going on at once. much more thought and planning involved as you ditch the "oh well, get em on the next point" mentality.

Style of play has changed a lot since then... teams are not full of 300 lb dudes carrying 20 lb matrixes...but yeah 5-6 mins is prbly still a little short.
I was just let down to see only 5 games.. as I am really excited about this.
But obviously you guys are old and don't want to play more than a couple games, got it No worries, we'll get those extra games in finals

I understand about the small number of prelims games, I feel like any tourney I play in I should get 8 games guaranteed for the amount of $ I'm paying. My point to you was how much playing time are you getting in xball or 5 man race 2? Divisional Xball is what 4 matches? 5 man used to be best 2 out of 3 against 4 teams to see if you move on.
Well played with the insult on the back end of that, that really adds to the otherwise adult conversation that's been going on in this thread. Shame...I expected a little more from someone with an 03 join date...

My team just registered and I'm very excited to have this experience!

Growing up all the older guys at every field I ever played at said that 10 man paintball was some of the best paintball they've ever play. So for me personally, I cant wait to get in on this and I hope that 10 man makes a full comeback throughout the rest of the PSP season!

Players have evolved and the game has changed but a 5 or 6 minute 10 man game is crazy. It would ruin what was so great about 10 man. A big move in X-ball you probably have one or two guns on you depending, in 10 man, you could end up with 5 guns on you. You cant force it in 10 man, too many players. Outside of blowout games you need 5 minutes just for things to develop. I only was able to play one season of 10 man but it was so much fun and I'm excited to watch it at cup. 5 prelim games is better than not doing 10 man and who knows, if it goes well maybe it will turn into a regular thing.
