New DM7 Flow Plug Leaks Badly Out the Front

I just received a new DM7 continuous flow plug due to heavy recommendation from other users and installed it. I lubed it up and put it in and as soon as I aired up the marker, there was a very forceful leak out the front. So much so that the lube I placed on it was being pushed out and onto the front of the plug. I changed the very front o-ring and tried again to no avail. Cleaned the inside with a q tip and still didn't work. I am convinced it's actually a bad plug with air being able to flow so much out the front. I tried screwing the set screw different ways and it still didn't matter. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?
