Lower caliber Glocks are nice for training, and for the ladies, but 9mm, .380Smith, and .40 Smith have NOTHING on the stopping power of .45GAP, and .45ACP, but they dont have the recoil management of a 1911, or any of the Sig-Sauer models. I perfer to only have to shoot someone once, not empty a clip into them.
now wheelguns are a different story. .357, or .44mag have way more stopping power of the .45 Colt, not to mention .38.
I'll put it this way, when you really need to **** a number of people up, using 1 round each:
.357/.44> .45 colt(.38 is an abomination, and shouldnt be used for personal defense, ever.)
the wound cavity of a .45ACP is almost 3x that of a 9mm
that being said, the recoil on an extremely light pistol, like the Glock is almost 3x the amount of Kenetic energy, because the slide/springs/frame dont absorb much of the KE as the heavier pistols
