8 small and 2 large.

9 small, 2 large. That is according to the manual.

there are 13 shims of 11 small and 2 large. dm9 came stock with 9 and 2. it was changed to 11 and 2 in the dm10. order of the shims are }-)()()()()()()- from small to large.

Bryanzero858 is right - just had a DM12 apart and there are 13, if anyone else is wondering.
