There's a ton of rookie talent this year on the defensive side of the ball. DROY should be a really interesting race.

Sacks and INTs are king for DROY. No one generally gives a **** about tackles, or tackles for loss, etc. I mean...its basically stating the obvious...but yea.

And Smarty, I like all your picks except the 2 worst defenses of all time (read: ALL TIME) making the SB this year. Also...NE's oline is going to struggle against good pass rushing teams. Tough for me to put them in the Bowl right now.

For me it was either Green Bay, Chicago, New Orleans, or San Fran from the NFC. I think the loss of Payton will catch up to NO in the playoffs, and I don't think SF is strong enough to win 2 tough playoff games, especially if they have to go to Green Bay. I really like Chicago and the direction they're heading but I still feel Green Bay is a stronger team. I don't like that it ended up being them for the same reasons as you, but it just ended up that way for me. As for New England I loved their draft on the defensive side, and the addition of Lloyd will make the offense even better.

As for DROY, it will definitely be tough. I went with Barron just because he's a beast and will fit in well in Tampa. I think Ingram will work his way into the starting lineup by the end of the year for San Diego, and will have a nice impact coming off the edge for them. Upshaw really has the best situation though. With Suggs out he's already a starter and they will look to him to do a lot of pass rushing. Not to mention he's on an already dominant defense so there will be other guys there to take the focus off of him.

Then why did you pick Kuechly? He might have a couple sacks and picks but his main statline will be tackles.

Because I think he can be a play maker and an exception to the rule. I also dont see any rookies making a big splash in term of picks/sacks this year. Theres no Von Miller to me this year, so I think Luke has a shot...also...Boston kid. In case you didnt notice I went full homer with my picks.

And Smarty, I dont hate your picks, but the problem with picking the favorites from last year is it rarely comes to fruition. I mean....how many times have we looked at teams coming off a good year, and said "man...they're going back this year without a doubt" and been dead wrong? Its just...the league is so full of parody now a days and even the teams with top tier QBs are subject to the upset in the playoffs (Patriots in 2009/2010, Giants in 2008, Packers in 2007/2011, Chargers every year, etc) All the time teams who do well and go deep are failing the following year...with the exception of Pittsburgh, New England, Philly, Baltimore, Indy (with PeyPey), GB, and the Giants (with Eli)really stand out in repeated post season births. Since 2000, 31 teams have made the playoffs, with the Bills being the only team failing to advance to the post season in that span. What that tells me, is that parody allows for teams without "stud" QBs are essentially unpredictable.

The top 5 teams in terms of most playoff appearances since 2000:

1) Indy (10)
2) Fagboys (9)
3) Pitt (8)
3) GB (8)
3) Baltimore (8)
4) NYG (7)
5) NY Jets (6)

And for S&G's, the teams tied with 5 appearances are:

New Orleans, Denver, Tampa, Tennessee, Atlanta, Seattle, and San Diego.

At the end of the day, my point is, picking anyone outside those top teams with the exception of Indy and the Jets is a risk. Not sure if theres a direct correlation (I highly doubt there is), but its worth a gander.

You must be trolling. Peyton is going to make the Donkeys AT LEAST a 10 win team.

Not a BC fan per say, but my grandfather went to law school there and I've been there a couple times for a football game and other stuff. Really, really nice place actually.

He is. His hatred for Elway almost rivals mine for, well anything, but most closely resembles my hatred for the Cheifs.

I don't understand why everyone is so high on the Chiefs.

What talent? I'm not sold on Charles or Hillis or Bowe. Those are the only players on offense I can name besides Cassel who is mediocre. And to think that they will be better than the Broncos is lulzy.

They went to the playoffs with Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow being the quarterbacks. Now they have a great QB. Even if he isn't top tier like he was in Indy, he still gives them a much better chance than any of Denvers most recent quarterbacks.

He hates the Broncos, so he's high on anyone else in that division. Dont acknowledge him.
