Long story short: there are people from Boulder/CU who ball (including myself), mostly if not entirely at Blitz due to proximity. There was/kind of is a CU paintball team, but it is defunct, and efforts to resurrect it have failed.
Carpoolers are always welcome though!

Is there any interest in a team at all?
Im almost certain I could get a few sponsors lined up, and organize the club.
Did CU recognize it as a club or was it just kind of a throw together thing?

Originally it was thrown together, but interest was mild. I am pretty close personally with the director of club sports, Kris, and he said that CU itself was lukewarm at best with marker sports (ignorance basically). It could be done, but it would take a lot of work. I think your best bet might be to find an existing team, but I'm NOT trying to dash your hopes of having a CU squad. If you want to get started in earnest on it, I'd recommend determining how serious you want this team to be.
Club Sports = University affiliated, semi University supported
Club = University affiliated, unsupported
Good luck sir!
EDIT: not trying to dash hopes. haha.

If you find the CU deal to be too much of a hassle, we are looking for players. Tryout at APC on Feb. 3rd at 1pm. Thread w/ info: http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3923933

Thanks guys.
Its not a huge deal but it would be cool. I actually moved here to Texas for Baylor, and they have a pretty big paintball team which was cool.
Baylor is just too expensive. Ill see what the interest is and go from there I guess. Thanks!

We did get funded to go down to an NCPA event in Oklahoma one year from the clubs program. We also played in the first blitz series, self funded. Since we never practiced and people graduated it just died. I say do it...no reason not too. Try to get money from CUPA, they usually are generous.

LOVE IT! From even before MY day...
I came thru right after y'all graduated and the kid who was somehow left as club president didnt really get it going... In my experience, you had to pay to use the CU logo and anything Ralphie as a Club, and as a Club sport it was soooo ridiculously hard to get any support or even pointed in the right direction. And even then, while NCPA Teams are a good time, they are EXPENSIVE and since it's collegiate, no prizes of any sort... More or less your entry, or rather what your school pays, is Chris R's (Founder of NCPA) paycheck.
Obviously Baylor, a private Christian university, is going to have more money to put into it, not to mention will support the folks with where their money goes... PREPARE FOR CULTURE SHOCK UP HERE BUD
Welcome new peeps, Boulder is one hellluva place

"So what do you do for fun during the summer?"
"Paintball mostly, but campi-"
"Paintball, what? Isn't that kind of violent?"
"No, not really"
"Why would you play such a sport?"
....real conversation with a random person I went to class with at CU, just to get a feel for what most people are like up here. Oh well, still probably the best place to live in the state

I grew up in Colorado, and love the Boulder culture. I absolutely HATE Texas, and especially Baylor. Ive only been here 6 months and Im dying to be back in CO lol. CU>>>>>Baylor. Nothing but a bunch of stuck up kids living on daddy's dime.
Im thinking with enough persuasion and work I can get something going. At least I hope. You guys would know more than me lol.

I know there's kids that are like that in Boulder too, but Baylor kids take it to the next level. I mean Lamborghini, Nissan GTR level. Ridiculous lol.
But yea a lack of religious nuts will also help
