I'm Sure we could arrange something for Louisville at asylum is people want us to look into it.
Would people be willing to travel to Louisville? If there is enough Interest, we can get on the phone and try to do something.

Only issue with that is attendance overall. Several teams already mentioned they wouldn't be able to play the first event regardless of location. In addition, attendance from Florida would be very low if any. Could end up only pulling in 7ish teams...

If it generates enough interest, I'll try to make it happen. I don't see much happening in January though as a result of funding inquiries, which we have to do as well.

lets do a tournament in georgia at nitro or maybe pbc in south carolina. FGCU would probably be able to attend those locations if we had enough notice.

The original plan a few pages back was Clemson was going to host at one of the PBC parks--probably PBC South.
Being that we've already had one at Nitro, I'd like if we could diversify a bit, although Mario was a fantastic host and it wouldn't be a bad venue.

Let's get it going then! I know we'll be pretty flexible in the spring so the sooner we decide on all this the better. Especially now that Alex, myself, and all the EKU and Louisville boys can coordinate to get things going.

Well Clemson still has the go ahead to host an event. Right now we are just trying to find a field. My suggestion and what I really want to do... I want to host the event at Nitro, with Clemson as the hosting team. We've already talked to Mario at the event and he said he'd help us out if we asked. We could use the fundraising as well. We would really like to play enough events at Nitro so that we could encourage Mario to get turf out there. That field is going to be a staple in our league for as long as I can see, and getting turf out there would solve the only flaw in having a tournament there.
If anybody has a problem with this, let me know. We will contact Mario soon if nobody speaks up. One of the other teams that play there might be able to run concessions again.
As for PBC. Clemson will not be hosting at PBC. First of all, PBC Greenville screwed us over last season by hosting an event without talking to us at all. So we didn't get a dime of fundraising from an event at our home field. Secondly, none of the PBC's will allow for us to receive any kind of fundraising from paint sales or concessions. Therefore it would be worthless for us to host an event at PBC Rock Hill or Greenville.
The option that I would like the most is for Clemson to host the event in Clemson. We don't have any details about this yet, but we'd like to set it up and use it as a fundraiser and an excuse for the University to finally provide us with bunkers and a field. Cheap bastards.
Message me if you have any questions. I know we want to get the next event planned soon.

And to throw this out there.
1. Clemson can't go to CFP for an event other than Nationals.
2. We aren't going to Virginia in the winter. Unless y'all want me draggin a space heater onto the field, Clemson won't have their balls freeze off again. Love the field, it's just a lot better when it's warm.

We'd be down with another event at Nitro. The last one was a good time, and its not a terribly far drive for us (8ish hours). I believe the drive is about the same for ECU.

Just to be clear, to my knowledge, hosting teams generally don't make money off of the events, other than say Liberty, because they're actually hosting the event on their campus and not at a field. Unless I'm incredibly naive, most of the money coming from AA tournaments is from paint sales, and that's based on profit margin. Unless you're talking concessions, in which there are probably more time/cost-effective ways for your team to make money.
Using a hosting opportunity as an effective form of fundraising doesn't really seem like an option. I think the greatest advantage of "hosting" a tournament at a local field is shorter travel time.
Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Who in the last two years, aside from Liberty, made money from hosting a tournament? (I'm assuming Liberty has some kind of profit when they do it)

^^Not related, but how about an event at XK or something like that? Its in Durham, NC, which would seem to be a midpoint for some of the MSCC teams.

This is my understanding also. Liberty makes very little from the entry fees because we have to pay the refs. We do make some on paint sales.
The only reason other teams have mentioned the desire to host events at their home field is for short distance and some get a deal on paint or something for bringing in the business.

That is more than what we would get. We get the general discount at PBC. If y'all would like to host a tourney at PBC Rock Hill, I will set it up. I know the guy that runs it and can get it on the calendar fairly soon. It is a great place for a tournament as they have lots of experience. There's also a lot to do around there for the before and after nights. And a lot of hotels. I can ask around and maybe get a paintball discount at a hotel.

What was said above is correct. The hosting team does not make any money for hosting an event at their home field unless that teams owns the field. The only time we made money at one that we hosted was when we ran the concessions.

We've talked. German is very interested in it. The only thing I'm worried about, is that the field dimensions are far from regulation, and parking.

Well if this is true, then we will go ahead and host our event at PBC Rock Hill or Greenville. Let me get some available dates for January and February and run them past you guys.

Yes! North Carolina would be a great place! Also, VMI will most likely be out of any event in January due to possible school responsibilities in DC. On the weather conditions, me being from California it has not been that could here in December. But who knows it might change by the time we get back from break.
