01' Saab 9-5 Aero
Whats up guiyz. My truck jus took a **** so I'm looking for a used car under like 2,500$ and I ran into this 9-5 Aero and it looks sweet, the only problem is that it's a 2001 and has over 150k miles. I've looked around a little bit and seen that they seem to last awhile. I am just not to sure, my parents defiantly aren't to happy with the miles. It's only $1,450 http://www.kingdomchevy.com/details/...024/509847647/ has a carfax etc..3 owners, no accidents.
So could someone more knowledgeable about Saabs shed some light for me?

saabs will last easily past 200k if maintained properly. There are alot of parts around online so don't let the fact that they are no longer in business scare you.
I dont know how desperate you are but basically every $1000 you save towards a car the amount of cars you find gets alot better. Keep that in mind.

broke? need basic transportation? a high mileage european car is a great idea!
take it to an independent mechanic and have it looked over if you're serious about it
sketchy as **** though for that price, have you actually seen it in person?

That's cheap as hell.
Also don't buy a Saab with any ideas of how it's going to work out. Your expectations will be thrown out and a whole slew of other problems thrown at you.

Lol that price is sketchy as balls . Also if an owner pays out of pocket for repairs it won't show up on car fax ( ie don't report it to insurance

ball joints, tie rods, oil sludge, turbo whistle, shock absorbers, floor it to redline and make sure it's not mis firing, serpentine belt, smoke at WOT, water pump noise, rotting exhaust, weird noises over bumps while turning.
There is a good chance that a lot of **** had been replaced to make it to 150k, but there is a good chance that it hasn't been replaced.

Lol used car dealership. Full of awful surprises once you actually buy the car. Buy a volvo brick on CL for ~$1000 that will last you twice as long and half as much to repair. But if you really want a saab you can find og900's and ng900's really cheap and they are decently quick stock.

Saab's are extremely reliable. Just ask Supra MKIII. His has run as reliably as Gazz's solstice.

For that price, I would stay as far away as possible. Something has to be wrong with it.
