I'd like to do the same, but once I move to Virginia I feel like I'd regret selling my Axe/Rotor and getting pump gear instead.

DECISIONS!

Meh I'm content ruling the field with a pump it a pistol it's much more satisfying :-)

With the cost of paint and everything yes pump is better cause it is cheaper in the long run due to the amount of paint you shoot

Play pump cuz you want to and enjoy it.
I feel that playing pump only cuz it saves you money is a cop out.
Sure that's a plus but shouldn't be the only reason.

Peace-

I feel like there would be a fine line like there is between skiers and snowboarders. I don't know, maybe I'm just hesitant about the pump community after having played with an electro after so many years.

I think the best thing about being in the pump scene is the attitude. Pump is more relaxed, have fun, make friends, lifting up others than any other ball I've seen.

There will be good and bad in any crowd, but pump guys seem to like pump guys, so the more, the merrier!

I'm pretty indifferent about what a player shoots.

what it really comes down to. is what mentality you want to portray on the field.

OPEN CLASS= (HPA Tank, and a HOPPER of any sort)
The feel of playing semi-auto with less fire power than the normal semi user is used to.

OPEN STOCKCLASS= (HPA Tank or 3.5oz. and a STICK or SPRING FEED)
Instead of having the feeling of a plethora of paint you can fling at someone, your limited to 10-15 balls before you have to reload. cause you to be more attentive to which shots you take and when.

STOCKCLASS AKA BAD-*** ;p= (12g CO2 cartridges and a STICK FEED)
Stockclass is the bare bones hardcore way of playing pump (short of single feeding with a bolt action and 12gs) because you have to not only ROCK and COCK to feed your marker with a ball between shots, but you also have a 10-15 ball limit before reloading, and your 12gs limit you to somewhere around 20ish shots before you have to reload your air as well.
All of this changes not only how you play the field, but also how you think when under stress and intuition to anticipate. and read players, and when to take the shot.

so the question comes down to.

WHAT KIND OF BAD *** DO YOU WANT TO BE?

On top of all of this, people always look at you differently when you play pump. It's almost like a fear.
At my home park its awesome because after one point in the day the rentals always want the pump players on their team. They even ask for pointers and tips and whatnot. No one gets mad, no one gets over shot, only fun and competition.
Isn"t that what the sports supposed to be about?
Having fun? At least it should be.

Plus:
It's always funny to watch peoples eyes get big when you catch them with their pants down per-say and watch their eyes get big right before they catch one in the lenses. And it keeps the agglets big headed egos from getting too big :p

It's all about how you want to portray your self on the field.
so how would you like to portray yourself friend?

Pump for the win. I love it to death. I've played every kind of paintball there is to be played and pump is without a doubt the best form. I love the cost to play, the challenge, the satisfaction from eliminations and the respect that you earn.

Pump and Stock class are the purest forms of paintball, hands down.

id agree with you if i knew nothing about pump or paintball in general if you need a pump to save money or paint then your playing wrong and with the wrong mentality, i love my semi's but i love shooting pump as well both compliment game styles that i personally play, but i've gone out in games with a semi and shot less paint then pump players, just remember its not about looks its about skill and beating your opponents not only with the marker your using but also mentally and strategically, being a good shot helps as well..

to the op if thats something you want to do i'd say Do IT! but if your not enjoying yourself doing it figure out what you like and go from there i'd do it from time to time but not full time thats my opinion

I recently started playing pump, and I've found that using a pump 90% of the time makes me appreciate the my electro markers more when I feel like throwing a little paint. I'll never sell my Axe or Mini, but the Sniper II is my primary for the foreseeable future.
