Trouble with an Ion...

Hey guys
I honestly dont know whats wrong with my ion.....
Just two weeks ago i paid someone $50.00 to fix it and now its not working right. What will happen is ill be shooting then instead of the paintballs going the normal distance, They will only go a few feet sometimes even roll out of the barrel! It's almost like the tank ran out of air but my tank is full! If you need further details for it just say so.....

SOMEONE ASSIST ME PLEASE.

What kind of air source are you running? Was the person you paid a tech, or a guy who said he could fix it? Because honestly you can buy Ions for 50 bucks in working condition.

Yes my battery is good i put in a new battery that came with the gun and the problem was still going on....

And the guy that "fixed" it was not a tech but a friend....
I now kind of regret because i payed good money only 2 WEEKS ago and now its broken again......
Do you guys have any suggestions on how to fix it?

Make sure the tank is screwed ALL the way in.

If that doesn't solve it, raise the dwell a little.

The pressure should be fine unless the gauge is practically on zero.

And if your ion doesn't have an On/Off ASA then the tank would be hard to screw on and unscrew. My friend had the same thing happen to his PMR.

The tank wasn't screwed in all the way and he was having recharging problems.

Believe it's around 200 psi.

Be sure to download and read the owners manual, a it goes over what your pressure should be at and how to maintain your marker.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paintba...d_valve_system

"Tuning the bolt and valve system

In mechanical and poppet-based electropneumatic markers, the valve is usually designed to accommodate a specific operating pressure. Low pressure valves provide quieter operation and increased gas efficiency when tuned properly. However, excessively low pressure can decrease gas efficiency as dramatically as excessively high pressure.

Additionally, the valve must be set to release enough air to fire the paintball. If the valve is not tuned properly, insufficient air to fire the paintball may reach the bolt. This phenomenon, known as “shoot-down,” causes fired paintballs to gradually lose range, and can also occur at high rates of fire. Some markers have integral or external chambers, called low-pressure chambers, which hold a large volume of gas behind the valve to prevent shoot-down.

Tuning can also prevent air blowing up the feed tube upon firing, which disrupts the feeding of paintballs into the marker."

Find out whats causing it. Maybe a faulty macro line, maybe some debris build up in the reg, lots of things to check.

Has anyone suggested you actually maintain the gun yet?

Get a microfiber, wipe the whole bolt engine and every Oring in the body, then apply a gumdrop of lube to the orings, reassemble, and try out.
