So I have an impy with a horizontal max flo reg on it. I want to get an on/off ASA for it. I have looked at vertical Maxflos and aftermarket regs. I heard that Max flos were awesome regs, so I am not sure I want to go aftermarket. I was looking for thoughts and input from fellow impulse owners......

you can get a kit from eclipse (you could) that puts your horizontal maxflo, vertical. they are hard to find at this point i think...

if you dont go that route you will have to get a vertical asa to hook up a reg. i would probably get something besides a max flo just because of the bulk...but they will all work relatively similarly. aka 2 liters offer some of the best performance.

i do have a vertical asa on it, i put one on a few yrs ago with a different gas thru grip, i just really want an on/off asa. I have another impulse coming with the vertical asa, but wasnt sure about aftermarket, so thanks for the input ripdisc

sure thing. then all you need is a reg and the on off asa. getting one that bleeds is a nice feature. many will require a rail. there are some direct mounts but they tend to be pricey for a direct mount on off that bleeds. bob long gear drive is the only one current that comes to mind. critical had a few on ebay but in limited colors

I'm actually going through the same thing-- I ahve an old 2k2 with horizontal reg and it is just a royal pain. Can I buy any vertical reg or is there something specific I should be looking for?

an impulse vertical asa and then whatever regulator you want. plus a bottomline asa or on/off or whatever you want to screw the tank into
