From the looks of this timeline, it doesn’t appear there will much time for it. It will depend on how promptly the orientation starts/ends.
My general suggestions:
- seek your general/XO out before the game. Find out if he has any specific strategy in mind or directive for when the game starts.
-We already know what the primary mission is at hour 1, which is an advantage. Make sure your side knows. You'd be surprised how many people are unaware of what’s going on
-This game is Big Game based, which means emphasis on capturing/holding real estate. Recruit as many willing walk ons to form a spot platoon. It will be up to your general to disperse you but at least you can give him the proper tools to fight.
-while strategy is important, communication is more important IMO. If it were a military operation, all involved would be in on the plan or have orders to follow through on said plan. Unfortunately, the same cannot be counted on in a paintball big game. You cannot expect all players on a side to decide to want to put their own game aside to help the bigger cause (disappointing but true) but you can control communicating information to any player. What they do with it is up to them. The side that has the most selfish players typically lose and then they wonder why they lost
Our team doesn't even know what side they will be on but we have an ad hoc stategy in place that is easily able to be customed to the generals needs. I hope this helps a little brotha. Its really the best I think of to answer this question at the moment.
