You get what you pay for. Here in Canada, field paint is no lower than 50 bucks a case and can go up to 200 bucks a case. That's why I usually play on BYOP days.

Yeah, I'm not kidding. At "Sgt. Splatters Paintball" it's $176 for 2000 paintballs, at "Defcon Paintball" it's $160 a case, at "CQB Tactical Paintball" it is $50 for 500. There's a lot more, but I'm not lying. You can look up these fields websites.

They are mostly geared towards the new players and renters, the ones that don't know what paint prices are reasonable.

I feel like paintball is not as popular as it could be because it is so expensive. Really this sport as a hobby is for people with money. I'm tired of dropping $50+ on a good paint just so I can play for one day.

Yeah, we all have to make our choices in life. I quit skiing years ago because I found it too expensive. Didn't even try getting into moto-cross or 4-wheeling, even though I'm sure I would have enjoyed it.

Yes paintball would be more participated if it was cheaper. But it's not, so we work with what we have.

Canadian paint prices are no joke. We play in Canada a couple times a year. Sometimes if you have enough players and/or a sponsorship can sometimes get team pricing or maybe a bulk discount, but it's still way more even after that.

Can't say that I blame them. One thing I can say for Canadian ballers is they have a true passion for the sport.

With the prices of paint so high, the ones who don't just drop out.
BTW, Google Insight shows that there is more interest in paintball in Canada

I would agree with that, at least from the amount of fields you have. I live near Buffalo and people say "there's less fields here because of the weather, nobody wants to play outside". Ok, how come when I drive from here to Kitchener, there's like five or six fields on the way, right off the highway? Plus I notice you guys actually tend to shoot more paint.

If paint was $1 a case people would still complain about how expensive guns were and field fees and entry fees.

encapsulating machines are very expensive and field owners have a lot of overhead. I don't think anyone is making a killing selling paint.

We get 4 choices
$55 for premium gold
$68 for empire custom blend
$72 for marbalizer
$75 for ultra evil

I mean when they are all great balls why pay more for a name? And lots of the times the premium is newer and fresher so I'd rather shoot a 1 week old case of premium than a 2 month old case of ultra evil that's stored in a large aircraft hanger in Texas where the temperature can fluctuate 30 + - in a day.

Around the $40 range for a case. I use Valken Fate and they are $45. Great paint for woodsball.

We pay $68 and the paint is damn good, used to pay more and the paint was so ****ty it wasn't even fun to play. I dont care if I'm spending $120 for a case to play, I just want GOOD paint when I am paying such a premium.
