Has anyone tried putting a CCM Hammer/Valve spring in their Empire Sniper? I ask because from what I've seen and read, the Sniper is heavily sprung and fart a bit out of the factory. Also, since it has a 11/16th valve (Spyder/Trilogy), I was wondering if it needed a different type of valve spring. Any info is appreciated as I hope to pick one up for my birthday in a couple of weeks. Thanks!
That what I was thinking, I'll try it when I get an Empire Sniper. I saw this video of a guy who put CCM springs in his Sniper and it still farted. Maybe it wasn't tuned?
the Snipers use 11/16 valves similar to the trilogys, the Normal CCM sniper springs will not fit, although the hammer spring MAY work it will be too light for any Off the shelf valve springs

There's no need to change them even if they did work, unless you just wanted to put your on flavor on it. My sniper from the box is not far off from a friends T2. The stroke stiffness is identical(somewhere between soft and medium strength), but the sniper is slightly louder. Not enough to worry about though. You probably wouldn't even notice it unless you were shooting the 2 side by side. There's also a mild fart during auto-triggering that fades away at a distance(I could hear it when I was using the gun, but when I swapped with a friend, I couldn't hear it from a few feet away.
I'm overly picky about my gear and the only things that I can find wrong with the sniper are:
1. The Feedneck screws and the Stock Class feed tube screws are not the same size head. It takes one allen wrench to take off the feedneck and another to install the tube.
2. The marker plays too small for my taste and I want to put the ASA on a rail or reverse micro drop to slide it back, but because of the unique t-rail system, options are limited if you want to keep the aesthetics clean
Everything else it fantastic. Even down to the o-rings on each piece of the barrel kit.
The CCM springs will still fart a little. It has to do with the poppet's stem length. The 11/16th CCM valve should be the solution. I say should, because the tolerances are looser for Empire in their markers than they are for CCM and their markers.
I installed the CCM valve and hammer spring. The hammer spring needed some spaces and the gun runs great now! Still a little fart, so I'll look at what else I can do. Can increasing the hammer weight also help?
