Demon leak from begind trigger

I Just got a used 2012 demon on here. I unboxed it, aired it up, and there was a small leak coming from above/behind the trigger and below the bolt.

The leak is small and dosent affect the shot of the gun from what I could hear, but I don't have a chrono. I took off the frame, and took off the manifold and solenoid. I checked all the orings. They all looked fine, but I replaced a few important ones, I the took out the QEV, both orings looked fine, but replaced them anyways. I checked the diaphram an it was also fine. The only thing I wasn't able to check was the plugs, the two in the front and one in the back. I need help on how to get those out to check the orings. After cleaning and replacing the orings I thought I should replace. I put everything back together.

There was still the same sized leak in the same area.

I did not check inside the solenoid as I don't feel safe doing that. And also as I already said, the plugs. I need help on how to get those out and what else to check.

I contacted the previous owner and I am still waiting on a reply, it was only about 10 minutes ago. My local shop is about 45 mins away, so if I can fix it on my own, I would prefer to.

Well, don't pull the plugs, they are not likely the cause of your leak.

I would first get to a field or chronograph and make sure the gun is not just over pressurized. It could just need the HPR lowered.

You may also need to service the HPR as it might be over pressurizing the solenoid.

If you can't get it figured out, let me know and I'll help you, I'm your regional service center and tech.

Ok, I don't have a chrono at home, I will probably just let it be until this weekend, then shoot it over a chrono

Generally you get that leak when the HPR is turned in just a little more then it should. (Assuming your O-rings are all in order with the QEV)

So a chrono can make a quick check to see if your velocity is just a tad high (if your sitting around 310 - 315 FPS then more then likely this is the issue)

once your at about 260 FPS and above it only take a very small amount of adjustment of the HPR to effect the velocity a larger amount, so 1/8th of a turn might be all you need to bring it down and stop the leak, maybe 1/4th if your a little high)

It shoots 275 fps fine, but when I raise it just a little, it leaks. I completely took apart the hpr, checked the orings, put a light coat of lube on them. I also replaced all the orings on the outer can, so that is not the problem. I am still in need of help if anyone has anymore ideas before I buy a new noid

It's likely just the QEV diaphragm. I would suggest sending it in as opposed to just buying a solenoid. $25 to send it in vs. $100 for the solenoid.

Have you put a new QEV diaphragm in it yet?

Talking to

Any more ideas in the meantime, the hpr is not the problem unless an actual metal price got damaged somehow, I completely replaced and out new orings in in there. Again, I did the same on the outer can of the bolt. My next idea is replacing every oring on the manifold, and I'm gonna try to get my hands on a brand new diaphram

Chill and try the new diaphragm first. Replacing o-rings willy nilly is just silly.

When you replace the diaphragm, check all the orings around the manifold for any slight nicks.
Fingers crossed it is the diaphragm as most cases like this, it is that.

It is fixed!!!

I used some dye slick on the bolt and hpr. I originally used the stock lube as I didn't have any more. I used my friends dye slick and the problem got fixed!! I guess I have a spare diaphram now. Lol
