Spring mod vs Techt
So I'm debating on shelling out the cash for a TechT Enertia bolt or sending the stock bolt into pooty to have the stock bolt polished and spring modded.
Do the two even really compare? Is the Rhino spring mod better than the way the Techt is designed? hopefully someone can point me in the right direction  |

Spring mod is the way to go, but don't have the bolt polished.
The techt spring isn't half as good as a rhino, and they're quality control isn't too spectacular either. Polishing the bolt will have reverse effects to what your trying to achieve. Instead of creating a smooth surface that will result in a smooth shot, you get a surface that can't hold lube and causes a lot of friction.

the rhino spring that everyone uses is fairly cheap...less than $10 and can be purchased from Rhino1XL on pbn. As for the polishing...if you want to do the pooty polishing that is up to you but as shooter28 said it can have some drawbacks. The only polishing that has been found to work well would be the iso polishing. As for the bolt boring for the spring mod. You can do it yourself if you feel up to it otherwise there are many people in this forum that will do it for you for a small cost.

Haha lol, guess I'll be ordering a spring from rhino soon then! As far as boring the bolt for the spring, does anyone have some specs for me to go off of? I have access to probably do it, but I wouldn't know how big to bore or how deep?
Is there some other mods I can do to make my shocker more efficient? For practice I fill our tanks with scuba tanks and they don't last very long. I feel like my shocker is a air hog compared to my...dare I say it..modded ion |

Once you have the spring mod, you can lower your dwell.
And an adjustable bolt guide would help. |

No that page only tells you how the guide was meant to be used from the manufacturer. It's used differently in the spring mod. Read this thread for info on how to tune the guide. http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3584559

contact cs900 and have him mill the inside of your HE bolt or stock bolt. I found this along with rhino or any other comprable spring is the way to go.....this will get the efficency and etc that you are looking for. yeilding similar if not better numbers then spending money on a aftermarker bolt such a techt or egien etc etc.

The recess on the tech t is only like .2" shorter than the diagram. I didn't get a chance to install mine before I had to liquidate. I'll have a shocker again tho...loved that gun.

Pooty's Mod is $20, including the Rhino spring  if you're gonna make the effort to do it yourself, just don't eff it up. haha
