What is the difference between these two barrels, is the back on the boomy steel and the ultralight aluminum? is that the only difference? do the fronts and backs fit each other? ie: can I put a boomstick from on an ultralight back, etc?

Just as you stated the difference is the back. The standard boomstick has a stainless steel back. The Titanium boomstick has a titanium back and the CF boomstick has a cf back with stainless steel insert. Ul has aluminum back. All backs and fronts are compatible.

They all fit each other perfect. Get the CF, best barrel i've used.

I want to say the CFBoomy has a 1" longer control bore than the Ti and UL. Also, if you're on a budget, the Proto backs are very similar in performance to the UL.

Honestly, they are all very light, very quiet, and accurate. I've had them all, I can't see any noticeable difference for the money.

You are correct. The CF Boomstick has 1 extra inch of control boe length.
