Howe to change Empire Sniper velocity properly?

I was reading the manual for my sniper and Im a little confused after playing today. I changed the velocity with the reg screw and it shot at 270fps but it ran a pressure of 280 all day, gun shot fine and shot people no problem. But what Im wondering is should i set the guage at the recomended 225psi then turn the back cap till i reach about 270-280 fps? Since its a pump im not worried about efficency just wondering if this is the best way to adjust the velocity.

ONe guy at the field I was playing told me to only adjust using the regulator but he didnt own one so I can really trust his opinion.

A lot of people, and reviews stated they had to go over the 225psi mark to shoot anything close to 280fps.
One review even commented that is one of the reasons you get a .675/680/685 barrel, so you can underbore it to get the FPS up.

Personally, I think I have mine set to about 240psi :/

Mines at 220 @ 290 FPS. But I run the hush bolt so idk if that helps. But I sweetspotted the reg and now I only adjust my velocity through the IVG screw in back....

Do you think the hush bolt is worth it?
