Talking hey dads/moms: need rigs and gear, my two boys want to play (4&5)

my two sons are wantin to play, yes they're really young, yes my wife knows and supports this, yes they've played with rentals, yes they've been shot, yes i myself play (almost 15 years). ok so moving on from the expected ethical criticisms i need some opinions on low-price markers that would be ideal for small hands....i'm thinkin mini but i've never handled one....any help is appreciated and if you're willin to sell a marker or gear you're kids have outgrown PM me. i'm in afghanistan but am returning soon

When you get back take them to a local shop and have them try some gear

That seems like a smart idea.

If you want to try out a Mini, go to your local shop; they'll almost definitely have one.

Minis are really nice for little people, but even better (and cheaper) are the Dangerous Power E1s. They are super hard to break, shoot well, and are extremely small.

I see that you're in Colorado Springs (Fort Carson). Take your kids down to DMC on Maizeland across from Palmer Park and try out some of their stuff. They've got a lot of the newer markers hanging on the wall and can order the stuff that you need. Unless it's AutoCocker parts...then, tough luck!

I would take extra safety for them, but that's all your discretion. But I'd go with everything that's smallest and lightest. i4, mini, 48/45 tank, z2, etc. That is all high-grade gear but that's the smallest, it's all about what's going to fit them best for them to have the best time.

If I were a parent myself and my children wanted to play Paintball, I would have them play with rental equipment for the first 3 times and if they like Paintball, THEN have them pay for half the price for their markers and you pay the other half so that they know that they have a responsibility to take care of their stuff. This way you also know they're aren't going to do anything stupid with them (shoot neighbors car) because they WORKED for it. And if you were looking for a small, cheap, good gun, get the G4, it's much better than the Mini in my opinion. Just my 2 cents

They've already been shot and want to play still? I musta been a pansy toddler, cuz I would've sat down and cried till I got dehydrated if I'd gotten shot at that age!

At fourteen, they'll overthrow chuck Norris as the supreme ruler of the world (blasphemy, I know, but I have foreseen it)!

best midgrade guns in my opinion are eteks(any generation) for many reasons

-they are cheap and affordable
-need very little maintenance
-shoot good

id go with spyders or a tippmann...theyre only 4&5 so theres no need for big electro hoppers and hpa and all that stuff..id go with a spyder sonix,fenix,mr1 or an xtra or a tippmann 98...you can never break a tippy theyre very reliable and all you need is a 5 dollar shake n bake and a 9-20 oz co2 tank (depending on what is light enough) and your set. if you get a mini your gonna NEED a Hpa tank and youll want a electric feed hopper..trust me ive tried being a cheapscape..i ended up with a hopper of ruined chopped paint. i have 2 tippmans and 2 9 oz tanks but i dont like to ship out big stuff its a pain for me. any way hope this helps you a little man! (P.S. i take it your in service so just wanted to say thanks for your service man, joining the Marines when i graduate(: )

If you're looking for resale value later on, don't buy a Mini; or a Dp gun. What people are asking and what they're actually selling for are two different things.
