So I see various paintball structures sponsored by paintball companies like Tippmann. What benefits do the fields receive from these companies and what do the companies get in return?
I don't know the answer for sure, as I have not ever seen a contract between two parties like this, but I would assume the companies (like Tippmann) pay a fee for the advertising. There is probably an initial fee that would help with the construction costs and then probably a contract in place that ensures the name will be associated with the structure for a minimum number of years in exchange for periodic payments. But that is just an educated guess.
I've only heard of these kinds of structures at places that are known to get a fair amount of traffic and media exposure. Not sure they would be interested in a deal with small local fields that aren't going to make into the magazines and such.
The record is 8000-10000 square feet, This film is just of one of many forts at the field but this is the biggest. If I spent about $18k I could connect them and call it the worlds largest treefort by about 2000 or more square feet. look at my other vids if your curious.
They are known as Opiuma trees here but the scientific name is Pithecellobium dulce. They are spiky trees so clearing the land was difficult but they don't drop additional branches often after they reach adulthood, so that is good. They make great shade trees in the dry environment and are the precise reason I chose the spot, well that and the highway being right there. I measured out the all the forts and its not as big as I originally thought, all said and done we will hit a little over 5000 square feet so we are short of the record by about another 5000 square feet. Still massive though, the fort area covers 3-5 acres so this one definitely covers the largest chunk of land and includes the most trees. I want to break the record but I am going to have to wait for operations to pay for the expansion, unless Tippmann or someone stepped in. Maybe hydrotec?
Although I have seen some "sponsored forts", I can't think of any specifically off hand. I am willing to bet that companies like Tippmann, trade equipment for sponsorship/advertising in certain circumstances. Im confident that it would be difficult to draw a large check from anyone in the paintball industry for placement of a few signs.

A hearty WELL DONE to you sir. If more paintball fields put out the effort (and money) that you obviously did with your fort, the sport would grow and flourish.I am always encouraged when I see field owners actually investing in their business.
