the seller does not know anything about what settings the dwell is or what the rof is at right now on the ion. i plan on playing on semi auto but i want to raise the rof to 8...will that mean i need to then play with the dwell or will it work the same as if the rof was lower.

The dwell is the length of time it takes for the bolt cycle to complete. The ROF delay is the minimum length of time between bolt cycles (allows the firing chamber to recharge for the next shot). Set your dwell to the appropriate setting where you do not have any Operating Pressure and/or consistency issues. Then change the ROF delay to adjust the maximum bps rate you'd like.
