Study Abroad
I am going to Switzerland in the fall and I thought "why not see who else has gone abroad?" so here goes nothing. Post your opinions on where you've gone, what program you used, and what you did (keeping in mind PbNation rules please).
Feel free to post photos (again, that follow the rules).
Also, if you have any questions about study abroad feel free to post them.

I studied for a summer at Universidad Complutense Madrid in Spain. Spain was great, but the nice thing about Eurpoe is thats its so easy to travel. I was in school full time still making weekend trips to France/Portugal/Morocco pretty often.
I used Modern Language Study Abroad (MLSA) mostly because they seemed to have the best deal. They were acetually really helpful I'd definitely use them again. There's a lot to do no matter where you go, but we did a lot of touristy stuff, went to running of the bulls at one point.
Now I'm applying to teach english in korea next year

Went to Ecuador last summer... visited Quito, the rain forest, and some other places. Loved it, learned a lot, and had good times overall. They use the American dollar, so it's pretty sweet to directly see how you're paying cents on the dollar for everything not electronic or high tech, provided you can speak enough Spanish to ask what their bottom line is for pricing. We took Spanish lessons that our professor dictated via local teachers. Saw a former Ecuadorean president in a pub/tavern/bar, and some commando general in the streets, their presidential motorcade, visited their version of West Point, etc.

I went to Ecuador for a week in January, it was awesome. We were in Quito for a few days then went into the mountains, such a great experience. Everything was so cheap, I spent like $150 the entire trip.

Went to Singapore last term and had the time of my life. Singapore itself was comparable to the us cost wise, but the surrounding countries were dirt cheap. Was able ti eat for about $1 per meal in Vietnam. Already looking to go back after graduation and tour all of Asia.

I think needless to say, the best things you can do is get away from the other Americans, travel as much as possible, do everything you can to speak the launguage as much as possible, and remember that you wont have an oppurtunity like it again. Getting ****ed up is fine and dandy but alcohol gets you drunk around the world. Unless there is a signature beverage IE Germany:Beer, France:Wine, etc, save it. Partying and **** is the Im in college and yolololo thing to do but traveling and immersing yourself versus just doing a semester in foreign country is the best thing you can do. Oh and being in Switz, go to Lake Constance. Its amazing. Also, everyone hates you in ST: P. Good luck, have fun, and dont be a ****ass who wastes his time abroad.

Why Switzerland? Cause from a financial stand point, it's expensive as **** if I remember correctly.
