by law any one playing the sport of paintball must be 10 years of age or older.
that being said going out inna woods is a viable option to circumvent this. as far as masks go, my field recently picked up a batch of the rental V-Tac masks by valken. they are ****ing tiny.... straps are SUPER tight too, they might be your best bet
edit: had a nine year old today wearing one shooting on our range (law doesn't state anything about target practice) he had to loosen up the straps actually.... he was pretty small too about ~3', maybe 45-50 lbs sopping wet. if your son is anywhere near that it should fit him easily

get a pair of lightly used i4s from the bst section, then go buy another strap. km straps are very good, then you can double strap it. it also helps to wear a beanie/headbands with the mask. that will help it a little

try getting him the old raven mask that came with the old spyders. it is like the old equivalent of 14s today. truly a small great breathing mask and it feels great on the head. pluss you can pick it up uber cheap.
there my 4th favorite mask behind the 14,proflex,and grills.
so, whats your point? this thread still provides valuable information to those who have the same problem. i dont see a problem with it....
It isn't that there is a problem , my point is that was there really a need to post "go with i4s" again as its been repeated numerous times , I understand more recommendations are better then 1 but I'm sure you get the gist of what I'm saying
