Setting Up a Field as a "Club"

As a player, I have been to many fields. The cheapest, I have noticed, have always been set up and called "clubs", though they were run as businesses and definitely for profit.

As a new store owner, I am looking to expand to a field. The land i am currently able to obtain use of is in a residential zone, so I believe i read somewhere i would have to use a "club" format.

I have been trying to do some research on google but i keep getting information on school clubs.

Any help would be appreciated, even if it's just a link to an article.

I just need help being pointed in the right direction, from there I can do my own research as to State specific laws and such.

Thanks ahead of time for your valuable time.

Zoning is zoning... and the easy answer is just walk on it to the town hall and ask. Doesn't matter what you think you have read where.... If you are doing something they don't want... they will shut you down. So go find out what you can and can't do. I would listen to the people that have the power to stop your business... not some guesses from folks on the net.

I tried to do that here but they limit membership to a little over a 100 annual members.

Albany Scenario Club is a club format. Its set up like a public golf course rather than a commercial paintball field.

Being successful comes with a steep price. One You have to work hard and be willing to sacrifice anything at anytime. Second you have to expect someone to paint a target on your back. Someone will always have you in the cross hairs. I have made my peace with that.

Albany Scenario Club is just like any field but calls themselves a club. The club reference was made to hide from the tax collector in the county and town.

Who says you have to have annual memberships.... field fee can be a daily membership. The waiver we all sign when paying the field fee can be easily adapted to be a waiver/membership agreement good for a duration of whatever the "club" wants it to be... 24 hours, 5 days, 1 year, etc.

OK what is it you think being a "club" is going to do for your field?
Clubs that earn money MUST pay taxes
Clubs are subject to the SAME zoning laws as businesses
Gat Splat gave you the only solid advice here.
You may need new zoning or a variance I imagine which means all your neighbors have to agree to this!
