Building type?
Hey guys. I have an opportunity to possibly go into buisness and open a field/maybe small store and wanted to ask a question.
What kind of structure do you guys use for the registration building? I've been to multiple fields and all have ahd different things. Some have small sheds, and some have larger, but still small steel shelters like these http://www.parkline.com/buildings/gable-roof/
Just wanted to hear opinions from you guys. Thanks,
Chris

A couple fields near me (TxR and Zone North) use a trailer for registration. Nothing fancy but that a/c sure is nice down here in Texas.

that was one aspect i was considering. also because i wanted to keep the paint climate controlled. it gets very cold in PA, and also hot in the summer. i also looked into the bigger buildings so i can keep all the supplies and bunkers in one area.

In my opinion, the most economical building is a used house trailer/mobile office.
They are:
~Easy to move and setup
~Available in a variety of sizes from 8x20 to as big as you want. Double wide units are available in 24x60 which is a lot of space, and large single wides can commonly be found in 12x56, 10x44, 14x60, etc.
~CHEAP! Used house trailers can be had cheap, sometimes free! With a little work they will make you a great building. You can often find office trailers at job sites they are finishing and the trailers look trashed--this is what you want! Re-do the floor, clean it up and BOOM!
~They have bathrooms, some have showers, house trailers have kitchens! ~They also all have air conditioning!
~No need for a construction permit, building plans, etc. Just tie into water, sewer, and electric, and your done!
You can find a nice used unit for $5,000-$10,000. Figure a grand to move it and set it up if its local to you.

That's true. I hadn't thought about it. My father works for a big mobile office rented and seller called Williams scottsman. I may look at that idea. I would probably need some sheds also for room for bunkers and mowers.

Haha, we are in the mobile space business in Alabama, William Scottsman is a direct competitor of ours. Yah, look at getting a used container (40'), or two of them, park them parallel to each other with a (insert your number here) 25' gap in between them, then put a center peak tin roof and you have a lot of storage, secure, and outdoor storage, for the low. We sell used containers from $1,000-$2,500

This is the easiest and most economical choice by far. I just saw (2) different used mobile homes on CL in my area for $350 and $400. They needed to be "fixed up" to be livable- but they were perfect for paintball. I would lok into this...

As far as storage goes, shipping containers work great, not too expensive, strong and portable. The only issue might be if you want climate controlled, but it might not be an issue, I don't know what the costs are for that.

Shipping containers are a great way to go. We rent a combo office from Mobile Mini and works out great. It's already wired up with 60 amps of service and has a heating/cooling system. Best of all, the rental contract includes theft coverage.
