What the U.S needs is not boring politics, it's Rooseveltian resolve.

Hey, remember that time you were asked about why Guantanamo Bay still being open, blamed the Republicans, and didn't have a single shred of evidence explaining how they could legally keep the Democratic President and Democratic Congress from actually closing the bay? In other words, the Democrats are terrible.

If you like Mitt Romney circa 2006, then you might as well just vote for Obama. There's not much that's substantively different between them.

Personally, I'll pass on either version of Romney. The old "moderate" Romney is too much like Obama, the new "conservative" Romney is too much like George W Bush. Either version of Mitt Romney will make a ****ty president.

What exactly is Romney's plan anyways?
So basically a politician is saying something he probably isn't going to do to get elected? Say it ain't so!

Look, regardless of who's getting elected in November, you can bet your *** that two things will remain constant: growth of the Federal budget, politicians going on about the need to curb spending.

The only two real effects that the election will have is determining which side of the Supreme Court tries to outlast which President and the appointees and the general attitude of the executive branch's bureaucracy. A Romney Administration wouldn't have blocked Boeing's South Carolina plans or construction of Keystone XL. Right now, a lot of the economy is riding on perception. And business' perception of President Obama is terrible right now.

Delong's post is laughable. "Romney has no plausible plan to restore full employment"? Who does, exactly? If Obama had one back in 09 when he was inaugurated with an overwhelmingly Democratic Congress and a sufficiently cowed Republican caucus, we wouldn't even be talking about Obama's reelection prospects because it'd be a lock. He doesn't have an economic plan beyond "tax the rich" and he knows that won't push the needle either.

Obama does have a plan: it's called stimulus. The democrats, unlike the republicans, remember the 19th century economic lessons of John Stuart Mill. Ever since Friedman died the Republicans have forgotten all the hard fought macro-economic knowledge we worked centuries to acquire. The fact that Romney opposes QE proves either that he and his economic team are complete ignoramuses or that he is so cynical and, possibly even evil, that he would rather inflict pain upon millions of Americans just to win an election.

This also leads me to worry that he'll staff the Federal Reserve with complete dunderheads like Richard Fisher.

God help us.

The FOMC already has the ability to unilaterally conduct more monetary stimulus. Why haven't they done so? Or is it because Bernanke's in the tank for Romney as well?

More golden parachutes for the rich and food stamps (Obamabucks) for everybody else. Great plan.

Hey, remember when Obama promised the unions that CARD check would be his FIRST action as President.

How did that work out for ya?... Lol.

Maybe if he had control of the house and senate he could have gotten it done...

Oh wait.

Nope. The mainstream media only bothered to show you what could be interpreted as a disaster.

It could be part of it solely due to statistics; they have among the most viewers and ratings but they often present a more unbiased view of both candidates in general. I personally don't consider it MSM considering just about every other news station in the country has a strong left-wing bias. I'll speak for the program but not for the the individual analysts.

So only stations you deem as having a "left-wing" bias are mainstream media?
