Issues with the first strike upgrade kit T9

I just bout the first strike upgrade kit for my older T9 because of 2 reasons, I want to shoot first strike rounds and my stock bolt broke!

Before I installed the new bolt and spring I realized that the mag that came with the kit along with an additional first strike round mag won't stay in my marker. It appears that my latch that releases the mag is facing the wrong side so when I put the mag in the marker it isn't catching anything to stay in place.

My original mags are machined all the way thru so that the mag would catch regardless to which side the latch is. Any help would be appreciated.

Just take a file to your magazine, the flipped mag releases require that mod.

Kits offered by Lapco and Killjoy allow you to release your mag with either your thumb or index finger. If your mags are not the old style you have to file that notch to match the old style. That notch is what locks your mag in so filing it down will allow your mag release to function properly.

Here is a link on how to file the mag down. It's really simple.

Because the flipped magazine release wasn't done by the manufacturer. It is an aftermarket piece
