Ninja tank cracking?

Picked up a new Ninja tank a few weeks ago from Pevs in Fairfax, Va. They were nice enough to fill the tank for me at the store. Tank then sat for about a week with around 4k in it. I emptied the tank the other night tuning a few gunsi. When I was unscrewing the tank after it was empty I noticed what looked like scratches on the bottle below the reg. However after further inspection they appear to be cracks in the coating on the Carbon Fiber. I was wondering if anyone has seen or reported this issue. This is my first ninja setup, as I have always had crossfire tanks in the past.

It's a new Ninja 68cu 4500psi CF tank with date 5@12 on it. It hasn't been game used yet and honestly not sure if I should get it refilled or not. I tried to take pictures of the cracks, but with the black tank, they were not showing up.

Any thoughts?

Nevermind, found a stickie that mentions it. Apparently it's perfectly "paintball safe" for the coating to develop cracks in it. Still a little on the unnerving side.

Same thing happened here, I just posted on Ask Ninja's thread

Why the hell is this happening to my tanks? I haven't played in about a month due to college and finals, and yesterday when I went to test my friends Invert Mini I find this... Black one has only been used 3 times, and the grey one only once. Thay have never been dropped, or filled above 3k psi, also I never bring them home with over 1000psi.

They were brought brand new from ANS on April.

I sent Ninja an emal, I wish they can solve this.

It's an error in the manufacture and application of the gel coating from the bottle manufacturer. The coating is too hard/stiff when it cured so it does not allow for the proper expansion and contraction during a fill and when the tank is empty. This causes stress on the coating and unfortunately with it being so hard it cracks to relieve the pressure on itself.

At first look, the cracks appeared to only be scratches, which I thought was odd because I hadn't even played with the tank yet. Then I looked closer and you can see that they are in fact cracks.

Here is my tank also 05/12. I got in contact with Rob as well at ninja and he told me to hang tight. If you contact them and give the information needed they will do their best to take care of you. I have had small issues in the past including a defective gel coat bottle (which this was the replacement for) and everything was handled smoothly. They are top notch and easy to work with. To note this tank hasn't even been played with merely filled once. Not sure if everyone is aware. The bottles are contracted out, the regs are ninja's true product.

I know it happened with the earliest line of Ninja bottles (happened to me to), but I thought they were past this, and using Crossfires bottles now; I never have had this with a Crossfire tank.

OLD FEEDBACK!

Why do people do this wanna-be hk thing? I mean hk people dont even play paintball, they just whine and start drama while wearing the ugliest stuff. Seriously you find light blue and pink to be attractive colors for your parents 1500 dollar investment (your gun/marker)? If you want to whine keep it off the field and save it for the internet; O wait! THATS EXACTLY WHAT YOU DO! Haha, if you don't play then don't whine.

I want your G6r parts and upgrades, sell them to me, because you wont get anything for them if you sell/trade them with the gun.

Spoke with Ray and Rob @ Ninja Paintball yesterday. They have been working with their Tank Manufacturer to come up with a solution for this issue. As stated in some other threads regarding this matter, Rob insisted that the cracks in the coating are perfectly safe and that the coating is just there to protect the Fiber underneath. So that makes me feel a little better. For now probably just going to throw a tank cover on the tank and wait to hear back from Ninja with a resolution. The guys at Ninja are on top of things and from what I can tell by dealing with them just this once, really do care about their customers.
