What your setup?
Pistol: Avratech Retro 7
Upgrades: Swapped the stock TPC for a CCI one. Swapped the stock 12g pierce seal for a modified CCI cup seal. Added a sight rail
Gear: E-Flex (new since pic), WTF puller vest and capless pouches.
Clothes: Team jersey (Maple Multicam), DBD multicam pants.
Experience: 5 years pump play, 1 year pistol play with a nelspot

Pros and cons of pistol play:

Pros: Light and fast, Able to get into small bunkers, smaller profile, limited ammo, hell of a challenge.

Looks cool as all hell!

Cons: it took 18 months to get that gun!

Pistol: Ariakon ACP combat
Upgrades: took off the back cap so i can easily insert the 10 rounds without taking off the clip, otherwise its all stock.
Gear: Shotgun shell belt to hold 10 rnd. tubes and 12 grams
Clothes: team jersey, camo shorts, and planet eclipse knee pads
Experience: about a year of pump, just recently got into pistol play.

Pros: Lightweight fast and can get into bunkers tight not normal players can use, CQB, and looks cool and is fun if your looking for more challenging play.
Co2 cartridge is not in clip so you dont lose any shots for ejecting the clips.

Cons: not bad though limited 12 shots for this gun, changing 12 grams during game. Also company is no longer is producing so its harder to find the gun

Pistols: Dual T8s and T68 Gen3s
Upgrades: T8s are stock but T68s have custom grips and remote line setups
Gear: 3 mags for both sets, multiple 10 round tubes, remote line, multiple barrel options, rails, ASA aluminum t-stock, and sights for T68s
Clothes: ACU pants, ACU tactical shirt, ACU molle vest w/multiple pouches, ACU drop leg holsters, combat boots
Experience: 6 months pistol play but have real steel pistol training
Pros: Small profile, lightweight, fast, intimidating, accurate, save a ton of money on paint, challenge
Cons: Limited ammo, mags are expensive, air change can be devastating at the wrong time

Pistol: tpx
Upgrades: none, I usually leave my stuff stock. Well, actually I DID paint the sights neon pink if that counts
Gear: nine mags, self made molle rig (condor mcr1 clone) with dump pouch and 40 round pod pouch.
Clothing:proto axis pro mask, valken echo jersey and Sierra pants, vcam. Oakley boots.
Experience: about a year of on/off pistol play, mostly rec ball
Pros: light, small. Get a lot of angles shooting out of weird positions in bunkers. Renters think you're the baddest dude on the field! Super cheap to play since you shoot about 1/10 as much paint as an electro. Eliminations are much more satisfying. Fun!!!
Cons: limited ammo, air is a never ending expense if you use 12ies, eliminations are few and far in between

Used to rock the PGP...

Now I'm torn between a TPX and Tech 8.1...

Dreamin of two pistols....

When I did rock the pistol it was a different style of play...

More active... you couldn't sit in back with a rifle... you had to move to get closer to your opponent for an accurate shot.

A lot of fun

I am joining up!! Lucked out in eBay and have 2 USP pistols with holsters on the way. Cheap!

Has anybody used these? Reviews seem good. Can u stuff a fs round in each for the first shot?

Going to try belt rig first. If needed will go vest.

Also thinking about a chaser with powder balls. Anybody try this? How effective would it be?

Ok. I have my set up in the mail. Lease critique.

Dual USP with 1fs round in the chamber and high end paint in magazine. 1 reload tube ready to go for each minimum and a 50 ball pod. Shot gun shell pouch for 12g. At least 12 of them.

.43 chaser with powder balls and mags enough to finish a co2. 7-8 should do.

Vest with holster for chaser. Belt or drop for USP. 3 pistols might be to much. Then one if USP sits at base for back up.

Laser worth it ! Would it help surrender people?

Same boat.

I'm going with the TiPX.

Tech 8.1 has 8 round clips, "First Strike" capable out of box, CO2 goes in mag which is big difference... Grip is bigger. More metal in body of gun.

I'm going with TPX even with it's smaller 7 round clips, and additional $70 "First Strike" upgrade... For cheaper mags and better aesthetics I guess...

I used a tpx at a big game and loved it only got 3 eliminations but it was my first time I love it but I reccomend you get a remote line so you don't have to pay ridiculous price for 12 grams.

Buy 12g in Bulk from Leland or ICO in bricks of 450. You end up paying less than $0.50 per 12g

this. also available from red rock distributing.

i normally HATE the idea of using a remote for a pistol; to me it defeats a lot of the purpose of using a pistol (weight, maneuverability/freedom of movement). however, i understand this is something that each individual has to decide on. it does kinda suck that using 12g's means that air is a never ending expense, and there's also the point that using HPA allows the use of a pistol year round, while CO2 means that eventually it will get cold enough that it becomes unusable. so i might just set up a second TPX with a remote as a winter pistol.

You can always install the remote line adapter and use 12 grams with it. Then you can have one pistol and have the option to use both, unless you hate the idea of having something sticking out the back.

I have used pretty much every type of pistol. T8,t9,tpx,Zeus,sa17, pgp and a few others. Have to say the most rewarding is the pgp for sure. Nothing quite like a pump pistol.

Got my "PGP replacement" today... Tippman TiPX pistol!

Even picked up a slightly longer barrel for it too!

I already put a few clips through it, works great, very accurate for a pistol (with the longer barrel).

I'll be playing tomorrow, so I'll see how it does in game too...

I was very torn between the T 8.1, the extended mags would have sold me on the 8.1 - but apparently they don't make them or something anymore, and if you can find them, they go for like $200+ cause their rare.

That being the case, TiPX it was! Next mod is the first strike upgrade...
