How does this compare to other big games?

Has anyone been to this and D-Day Oklahoma or Living Legends? Just curious how it compares before I decide to pay for it.

Curious about everything from pricing to game play. Looking at the pricing thread, it seems that the paint is cheaper but you get more game play out of the D-Day entry fee.

I've never done DoN before but it looks like a HUGE deal... I'm willing to bet there's PLENTY of game play.... Just worried about how much paint I'd use! LOL!

The only question I have is for someone that's been to an even like d-day Oklahoma, how much paint do you go through during an event like that? I mean in a few hours out in the desert me and five other people go through about 3 boxes of paint. So i'm just curious how much I should stock up on paint before an event like this.

I've heard its a great event, its at a well known amazing field and from what i've hear they do a fantastic job actually listening to the players and making adjustments with their suggestions!

I have to ask this: so a total of 6 players go thru a combined total of 3 boxes of paint in a few hours?

Personally, I have played in the previous 5 and this year will be my 6th and I have personally averaged 2 or 3 cases for the weekend! If you must know, I run an Etek 3 with a Pinokio hopper and carry literally a case of paint on me to the field.

Also, from what I have seen, the paint used at this field could be found at local stores. However, it looks like this year, the event paint will only be sold at the field and is specially labeled.

If you are talking event pricing, think it this way:

Entry (weekend): $65.00 (before Aug. 13th)
Air (weekend): $15.00
2 Cases of Mid. Paint: $44.00
Campsite Parking: $10.00

You are looking a minimum of $178. That is not counting all the stuff you will be bringing with you like consumable stuff like food and water or gatorade and travel expenses like airplane or driving.

I know personally I end up spending a lot just prepping for this event and I live reasonably close! lol

I like how the OP asked for people to give their opinions comparing this to other large scale events and not a single person has done so.

You are quite, right, but I since I haven't been to many other events, especially Oklahoma D-Day, I would be comparing this event based on hearsay. Plus, many of the producers out there have their own style of running an event, so one that is run by Viper is much different than TAW and is much different than MPP or Wayne Dollak.

However, since it's inception, Decay has always consistently have a large group of players attending (averaging about a total of 1000). There have been some good years and some bad years, but the producer tries his best to make the game fun and enjoyable for 2 days worth of play. All I can say is that with the large number of players, there are always plenty of targets available lol

Best thing is to just go out there and give it a go and experience it yourself and give your own opinion.

Does my answer help?
