97' dakota cummins 4BT swap

Hey nation, i've seen some videos and want to do the conversion on my 97' Dakota club cab. I have a few questions regarding the process. Heres a couple pics, first one is all stock before i finished the paint, second one is with the paint complete, 3in body lift, re-mounted pushbar and a new exhaust.

Now on to the questions.
1. Where is the best place to look for a decent priced running Cummins 4BT in NJ or PA?
2. What type of mileage should i expect from the 4BT? I get about 8mpg right now with the V6 magnum (plugs replaced a few months ago, oil changed last month, new air filter)
3. I have 31's and a 3in body lift on there now and they don't rub, will i be able to fit 35"s with minimal rubbing? If so what brand would you recommend for mud terrains?
4. I'd also like to do the solid axle swap up front (broke 2 CV axles already, ****ty design IMO) what axle would you suggest for it?
5. One or two stacks?

Open to suggestions (besides **** dodge, get a chevy or get a ford) always looking for new ideas for the rig.

Pretty sure you're gonna have to cut the firewall + new transmission to handle the torque + new rear end. It's not really worth it since 4bts rams are not that rare.

The 4 bt is supposed to fit without modifying the firewall, but it'll need a tranny, the stock one is ****. Id like to buy a ram but i cant afford that on a target paycheck, haha.

Here's an idea.

I know it's pretty novel, maybe even crazy, but...

SAVE MONEY. You can't afford it, but you can afford to do an engine swap? Don't do an engine swap and sell your POS to get what you want without a stupid amount of work

I happen to like my truck, hence why I still have it. A 4BT usually runs around $2000. A used ram with a Cummins engine goes for at least $5000 around here. This truck is in great condition, only spot of rust is the back bumper and i took care of that. This is my project truck and I'm not planning on getting rid of it. I'm currently in the process of repainting it gloss black.

So lets see.

2 grand for an engine swap. You could probably get 3-4k for your truck....

AM I A WIZARD?!

Is this your only vehicle? Also don't think you're going to be capable of doing this without serious mechanical experience and tools, which costs time and money.

Best offer i got was $2000, gauge cluster isn't working. I can't seem to figure out what's going on with them. I've checked every fuse in the dash and in the engine compartment, but they were all fine. It has to be shorted out somewhere.

Honestly it's going to be more expensive to do a swap than to sell and buy what you want. Engine swaps even if you have the tools and the knowledge always run into unexpected problems, problems that equate to cash.

If you want to do it for the experience... well good luck, but hopefully you have a second car to daily. This isn't a "oh I'll just switch engines after work today" kind of deal.

My girlfriend's step dad owns his own auto restoration and repair shop and is willing to help out, I'm not worried about being able to install it.
