Too bad all 98% of Americans care about is the Olympics where so far he's been mediocre at best.

yea, he's been mediocre and phelps hasn't even been worth talking about. The reason lochte got hyped was because after all the **** we got fed about us swimming last olympics and the huge popularity of phelps they needed to advertise mens swimming and lochte is the best male swimmer for US right now.

Yeah Phelps is clearly over it. It was extremely evident in the interview he did with ESPN right before the games. Oh well, he's still the man. He did a lot for US swimming.

Missy Franklin came in ...swam in the Womens 200 m semifinals for a spot for the finals. She comes out 10 minutes later to swim the Womens 100 m backstroke Finals...and guess what..she WINS GOLD !!!
Lochte are you kidding me right now?? This is your TIME ??

ESPN and many of its readers were ready to crown Ryan Lochte after a great win in the 400 IM. 2 days later, he's human again. Dethroning Phelps? Nope.
"My time" means you can't give up a half a body length lead when anchoring a relay. "My time" means you can't fail to podium when your biggest rival, and the defending champion, isn't swimming. You talk the talk, you gotta walk the walk. Phelps pulled off 17 races in 9 days and went home with 8 golds 4 years ago. What's Lochte's excuse?

Lochte = most memorable chokes of his time?

I agree with that. Hes nothing compared to what Phelps was in 2008. Nothing but a LOOSER! Can't even place? C'mon MAN! At least the women held it down.

Didn't they get silver in that relay? Or are we talking about some other race that I evidently missed?

I feel kind of horrible for saying this, but if I was 16 again or in Alabama, the things I would do to Mckayla maroney would be unspeakable.
also, watching NBC interview the girls that made the all around team while Wieber was in the background was pretty terrible.

It seems like she's been the favorite amongst all guys 16-20, so unattractive I think is the wrong word. She's a cute kid.
Everyone has said that it was a perfect vault. That was a crap deduction. I hope McKayla does the same vault in the individual and see if they score it perfect given a 2nd chance.

And to keep up to date with the latest cheating from China, as is the case every Olympics (same country that showed off their latest plane by splicing in footage from Top Gun - legit)

Cheting in Badminton

Ye swims faster than Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps, breaks her own best time by 7 seconds? Her last leg was like 5 seconds faster than her previous three. Yeah.....right. Same country that had 40 or so swimmers banned in the 90's for.....doping, what else? Same country who used underage gymnasts in 08 in Beijing. They're obsessed with beating us in the Olympics.

Probably. It's funny how several countries were surprised or questioned Ye Shiwen's swimming time, and all sorts of Chinese people blamed only Americans for questioning the time. Their obsession with beating us is funny.

I've been completely charmed and enthralled with Missy Franklin. I think she's adorable.
