Like it says, fresh install of Windows 7, and I can't get SP1 to install. I've followed windows and used the Windows Readiness tool, also did a file checker scan through CMD which was also suggested by them. I turned off the firewall/antivirus as well.

This is what the Error Means
"If you receive Windows Update error 800B0100, it means that a file needed by Windows Update is corrupted or missing."

Windows Readiness found a hotfix and installed it, but I still can not get SP1 to install.


This is rather frustrating as I just put a fresh install of windows on yesterday. So any help is appreciated.

Try using your Windows 7 disc to repair the OS installation, or at the very least, try setting the computer to the last known good restore point. Make sure your firewall and antivirus are disabled as well before installing the service pack.

I had the same problem so i reinstalled windows that already had sp1 on it, now all my updates work just fine. Im not sure how this helps you, sorry about that, but at least you arent alone
