That's pretty sweet. I'd love to have something like that for the rivers around here. I bet it works really well for the bayou's and swamps around NO.

It's nice, fast enough for me, 40 on my gps tops and can float in under 6" of water. I bought it quite a few years ago and haven't been able to go as much due to the kids but this year has been pretty good so far.

Saw a musky today. Holy ******** I found my new obsession.

Any tips? I was thinking of grabbing a fluke rod and throwing a small sunny clipped like a bunker and floatin it out. Lures be damned, I'm not spending 15 dollars on a plug.

Anyone here know much about kayaks? Looking to get one, not into white water , fishing is plausible. Mostly just for exercise and sight seeing. Any tips or advice on who to ask around the nation?

Kayak wise, we need a price range, purpose(rivers lakes ocean). Without that, there are endless possibilities.

My apologies.
$200-300
Maybe one that has a storage compartment, maybe some way to integrate a second passenger.
Rivers and lakes. Lakes MOSTLY.

I will have to get some pictures next time I go out and think about it. I have posted a few pics in threads past of me in the boat with a few fish. Fishing where I am has been pretty ****ty lately. Haven't been able to catch bass on anything but a shakey head. Had a good thump on a football head late yesterday afternoon but it was gone by the time I set the hook. I am ready for the fishing to pick back up when it cools off a little bit.

In that price range, new, you're best off keeping an eye on local sporting good sales. Usually as summer winds down, they have sales on kayaks

yea i forgot to take pics, was sick as hell this weekend.

also having the same problem but i am actually getting hits off football heads and 0 luck with shakey heads or anything else really. i have had a couple hits off spinners in the evening and jerk baits but nothing much. almost no rain in 2 months and hot weather have really put a damper on. the bright side is walleye fishing has been great but i do not have access to a big enough boat most of the time to go out on lake erie past the break wall .

honestly, i am really surprised there have not been more fish kills happening.

We've had quite a bit of rain over the last few days. I did really well on a crankbait Saturday fishing way up the feeder river of our local lake. I managed to take a nice chunk out of my skeg getting up there, but it was worth it to not see another boat the entire time I fished. Sunday my wife and I met up with some friends on the lake and just hung out. I did take a drop shot and drop it on one brush pile while we were out there and managed to catch 4 decent ones.

Constant boat traffic wasn't helping my fishing along with gusty winds Saturday afternoon and into the evening. Fishing just hasn't been as good this summer on my home lake as years past. The topwater bite has been absolutely terrible almost all summer long too, which is very depressing to me.

this x1000. that combined with it being way to hot for pike/musky has made this summer kind of weak. its been fun river walking and doing UL fishing but outside that it has been pretty lame.

i am about to bust out the centerpin early and use it for carp to get a change of pace.

I was just looking at my phone and noticed a few pictures from this weekend. This is the no-wake buoy at the boat ramp I launched at Saturday. They are starting to draw the water down, and I think this will probably be the last weekend for this particular ramp to be open. It is on a giant mud flat, and I actually had to use my trolling motor to get over the flat and trim my main motor all the way out of the water. For a while I didn't think we were going to make it out.

And here is our other boat. I took it out for a spin one evening after work. This was about 45 seconds before the motor decided to start stalling out really bad. I think something is clogging up the carb. I really like the boat, but it is turning into a huge PITA.

What kind of motor? How was it stalling? My yamamaha would kill at full throttle unless I pumped the fuel ball, that was the fuel pump. When I couldn't get past 2000rpms it was the carb jets clogged from glorious corn gas.

It is actually a 305 Chevy engine in it. Once you hit about 2500 RPM's it would sputter for a second and then die. I'm pretty sure it's something clogging up the carb. Just have to take time to pull it all off and give it a really good cleaning.
