Okay so basically I bought an ion of my cousin for $10 because it was broken. He had used CO2 in it(what a stupid ****) and now it doesn't work. Does it just need a new solenoid? or a whole new board

You can use co2 in an Ion. What is it doing that is causing it not to work?

Can and should are different things. Ions CAN run on CO2 but you SHOULD use anti-siphon CO2 tanks or HPA. First thing to try is a new battery.

As I said, what is the gun doing or not doing? You have to explain what the gun is doing in order for us to help you.

Check the battery harness wires. Have either of them broken?

Also check your power button, is it still in working condition?

Take the board out and hook a battery up to the Ion and see if that works.

the ion powerbutton is a bit wonky. I recommend getting the epiphany plastic button instead.

and for your problem; sometimes the ion boards just dies, happened to me once. And/or the powerbutton might fall off the board itself (the tiny little thing on the board, not the big red thing on the frame), also happened to me once, then you can resolder it or take the opportunity to solder wires for a dye membrane pad instead

For the record, anti-siphon tanks are one of the worst ways of trying to stop liquid co2 from getting into your gun. Considering the regs/expansion chambers on the market you have far better options. HOWEVER, i still cant recommend anyone use co2 for anything. Its easily one of the least cost effective things in this sport. People get drawn in by the low price of the tank but then pay out the rear for refills.

Anyway, stock ion boards kinda suck and are pretty cheaply made. Check all the wires and buttons and resolder what you can. Those damn power buttons stop working for no reason.
