What if you could measure where you stood politically? Political Quotient Survey.

So, lots of people like to throw around the "moderate" tag as they don't want to seem "left or right"...

So it is hard to see where peoples political viewpoints are based. But, we all have ideology, that is molded by the news, and other factors.

So this Political quotient test was created so we could see where people stood numerically. What is YOUR number?

It is interesting to compare your numbers to others. Do the test, and post your number.

http://www.timgroseclose.com/calculate-your-pq/

I just did the test again (last time was when this came out). I scored a 3...

Yeah, I'm one of "those".

They are, on purpose. They also give you the vote numbers, on purpose.

I don't think this takes Overton's Window into account.

That was the problem of the one gonzo posted also.

The point is to see where you rate, so of course the questions will "seem" directed towards a certain world view. They are that way on purpose... As they are putting your ideology into a graph, so they need black and white differences.

But, there are enough questions to get into many different aspects which determine where you are compared to others.

Imagine if we knew where our "journalists" stood on this test... THAT would tell you what slant they would take for their news.

Upon further reading, this operated entirely within Overton's Window. It isn't a gauge of where you are (political philosophy identification), at all.

I'm confused, how come republicans voted against the fair pay act? Who did the burden of proof originally rest on?

Most republicans are "at will" believers for employers, so any government regulation that goes against that would render a "no" vote...

that would be my guess.

It wasn't a problem with the one I posted because it was designed to figure out where you stand, in either direction. It did not give misleading or incomplete information. This one is kind of sneaky in that it does give some misleading and incomplete information, and is designed to shift attitudes rightward. Not surprising considering the source.

His premise is quote flawed, that centrism is in the 50s. It's more like in the 70s-80s.

Clearly you didn't read the book, or read the FREE preview on Amazon, as 50 isn't "centrism"...

This was peer reviewed by liberals in academia and found to be extremely well done and accurate...

Course the huff poo hated it, but would you expect anything less from them?

BTW, they used "American for Democratic Action" for the scores... Are you saying that group is biased towards conservatives?

Read the findings for yourself, or check out his book.

In my book, Left Turn, I compute Slant Quotients, or “SQs” for several media outlets.

An SQ of “0″ means that the outlet sounds approximately as conservative as a speech by Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) or Jim DeMint (R-S.C.). An SQ of “100″ means that the outlet sounds approximately as liberal as a speech by Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) or Barney Frank (D-Mass.)

If the outlet is perfectly centrist, then it has an SQ is 50.4, which, according to my estimates, is the Political Quotient, or PQ, of the average U.S. voter. (Click here to learn more about PQs and, if you desire, to compute your own PQ.)
