Hey guys, I'm making it back to the states from my year long deployment in Afghanistan. I've made a decent amount of money, and would like to invest a few thousand dollars.

What are some good places in todays time to be investing in? Just looking for some help, and assistance. I plan on researching all suggestions made, but I'm sure there is some smart mother ****ers in here that have it all mapped out.

Everyone has their own tolerances, interests, and "expected" returns. Sadly there are no magic answers. You can invest many ways relatively easily now a days and make money. With that being said you can also lose money.

If your looking to invest in the stock market I can help you out some I trade Monday-Friday 9-4ish. If your looking for a little less risk there's mutal funds, cd's, bonds etc. but to be honest the rates are so low right now you'd be better off getting a part time job 1 day a week.
