Firmware: dd wrt standard generic v24

The problem is that when i connect it to my modem, the modem doesn't connect with it. I have tried resetting both the router and modem. (The reason why i dd wrt is that the firmware from netgear was out of date and the router didn't work at all, so with this firmware it started working again).

What do you mean the modem doesn't connect? As in, you don't get internet access via the router...?

What kind of modem is it? Are you sure the modem is functioning correctly? Can you access the router via 192.168.1.1?

so when i connect the router to the modem the link light is off, and i dont have internet access.
When i connect straight from modem to my computer i have internet access.
The modem is an ARRIS which comcast provides.
When i tried to access the router through 192.168.1.1 it would tell me that there was no internet connection.

I'm assuming you tried to reset to stock settings in dd-wrt rather than hitting the reset button on the back of the modem?

the way you access dd wrt settings is through 192.168.1.1 and when i try it tells me that there is no connection.
