Alien Invasion issue.

I sold my invasion to a member here and I had no issues, but he seems to have a problem with the gun losing its velocity and feeding multiple balls as a result.

Here is my video then his. Im pretty sure its the ASA knob turned in too far restricting the recharge, but tell me what you think.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like there are no detents, or the detents aren't functioning to me. Could be shoot down from the asa knob being screwed in too tight. That's a common mistake people make. I'm seeing the shoot down as being a barrel loaded up with paint in the video.

Detents......not enough pressure in the LPR. Gun settings messed up, which is easy to do if you fool around with it.

Stock settings. Fresh battery. Good detents. I'm almost positive it's the knob being in too tight and the half cycles pushing the balls just past the detents.

He called me - I had him load one ball at a time - no problems.
When looking down the barrel he said one of he detents could not be seen.
I told him to get some Spyder detents and cut them just enough to let the balls drop and I would get him new detents.
The guns are really hard not to have them shoot right.
Most all problems are very simple - as above - no detents, low LPR or low dwell, weak batteries.
Invasions are the most reliable yet. Don't over think a problem. EZ answer is usually the right one.
Because the bottle adapter is the reg - even the situation of having the ON/OFF turned in to far is now gone.

I did not call nor do I think he did. The detent would not be the reason for the shoot down in the 2nd video...

i wonder if he ever cleaned the gun up after he noticed the problem. says he ran through a case of paint.

in the beginning of the video he points out that the barrel is already dirty. a gunked up gun is not going to shoot right.. thats a given.

he needs to clean it up and try again.. one freak ball break could have led to this i think.

It cant be something big because the gun shot fine when you shipped it out. it dosnt just break its self.

My thought was...

Restriction of air flow from tank = slow recharge = half cycles = ball pushed past detents and falling out of the barrel.

Do you think he didn't? Could just be timing that someone called with same problem... that problem is no usual
Shootdown is slow recharge - or - as was mentioned - could be shooting more than one ball - was there ball breakage?
Unless you know the problem is still happening, there is little to be gained by guessing.
If the players has a problem then, yes, do let us know and I would like to have them in on the conversation.

He just told me that he did call you (egg on my face). So it wasn't mentioned when he called about the half cycling?

No need to make this into something - the gun didn't have detents that were working.
Balls were rolling past, that slows down the bolt - when it doesn't break paint.
It takes very little pressure to keep a bolt from moving forward at the start of the cycle, especially when a gun shoots at about 70 psi.
When he loaded one ball at a time - for about 50 shots - it shot great. That is what detents do. End of discussion, no detents, gun won't shoot right. Good detents shoots great.

No.
Loading balls one at a time did solve the problem.
If he has a question he cal call me directly.
Otherwise we are the proverbial, blind man, looking in a dark room, for a black cat, that isn't there.

Sounds like at this point he's feeling pretty dumb and just trying to get his money back rather than admit his lame mistake. Tell him you'll refund his money but IF the gun has bad detents in it(or improperly replaced ones), you'll have to give him a negative feedback for being a jerk. No gun will feed tons of balls into the barrel like that without USER error.

I am thinking the same thing and told him so in a message after he sent me this video last night.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwmIZ1RnXyw

I offered to pay for the spyder detents he bought and recommended him to wait until the ones Jack sent him arrive.

I sent him a working gun and somewhere along the lines a detent mysteriously fell out. I apologized for that, and told him that if he just doesn't care for the gun then he can go ahead and sell it himself. I had other offers on the table and im positive those offers are gone now.

I sent him free detents - end of last week.

It shot as soon as he turned the eyes off - so the balls were not feeding right.
Also he's rambling a bit - no really looking for solution - that is the toughest one - when the guy doesn't want to find the problem there isn't much you can do.

You can tell him that if he send it to me that because it is so new - that for only the price of return shipping I will fix it. But the statement about the fps wouldn't change with 3 turns... I don't think he wants to be satisfied.

I messaged him with the quote from your post Jack and offered to pay for the return shipping. It is now up to him.

Yea, well I hope he isn't offended - but I would be surprised if he isn't kind of not wanting to do anything - best of luck.

Told him I would pay for shipping costs to ship it to you and return shipping.

He messaged me saying he took it to his local store and charged him 40 to fix it and wanted 40 from me, and would not tell me what they fixed.

Wasn't what we agreed upon so I only reimbursed the amount it would have costs to ship it to you (Jack) and back.

Guess we will ever know if there really was a black cat in the dark room.
